He not only has tremendous quickness & speed to help pick up first downs, he also seems to be a pretty physical runner at times.

This.
Toney is a playmaker. Every time he gets the ball it is electric. Like Hill, he is one of those quick, shifty, explosive, AND fast players that can make huge plays out of nothing.

JJSS = consistent, possession receiver who can get you a first when needed. Reliable. A solid WR all around.

MVS = fast, but poor catching.

Skyy Moore = not a good rookie outing by any means.

Watson = speedy, inconsistent catching.

Hardman = fast & quick, but has been hurt. REALLY good on jet sweeps. Average route runner.

Toney = playmaker. The guy who is a threat every time he touches the ball. Someone you must account for, else you will pay.

And then of course you have our #1 receiver, Kelce. First ballot HOF, GOAT. Enough said.

Some things that has me wondering.

This was the situation in the regular season game.

1. They were at home.

2. They had their best OL available

3. We had no Toney, Hardman, Thuney or Clyde

4. Juju had just returned from an injury and still wasn't 100%

5. Our defensive rookies were less experienced

6. Tre Flowers (the guy they used to help double Kelce) was healthy

And with all that we lead going into the fourth quarter and they needed a fumble and missed FG in order to win by three.

Now everything I listed above will be flipped on sunday.

1. We're at home

2. They have three backup OL guys playing

3. Toney, Hardman, Thuney and maybe Clyde will play

4. Juju is healthy

5. Our rookies have way more games under their belts now.

6. Tre Flowers is banged up and may miss this game like he did the Bills one

Now these things might not mean anything come Sunday.. but the fact is they had things way more in their favour the last time we played them and it was only a three point game and they needed a little fortune to go their way.

I would rather not have CEH playing. Everything else you mentioned sounds quite positive. Of course there is now a major negative and unknown with Mahomes' ankle. I hate the fact he has to spend a ton of time this week dealing with treatment for this injury.

If nothing else, the injury is a distraction from preparing in a healthy manner for the game. I would rather Patrick be able to focus 100% on football in the days leading up to the game. We know he's not going to be 100% healthy for at least a few weeks, so it's also possible the injury will be a legit problem during the game on top of being a distraction this week.

One thing that is not getting enough coverage is how big a contribution the Bengals can make at the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas.
The NFL announced this evening that QB Joe Burrow, WR Ja'Marr Chase and DE Trey Hendrickson have been voted to the AFC team for the 2023 Pro Bowl Games.

Additionally, seven Bengals have been voted as alternates for the AFC team. S Jessie Bates III is a second alternate, WR Tyler Boyd and HB Joe Mixon are both third alternates, K Evan McPherson is a fourth alternate, and S Vonn Bell, C Ted Karras and DT DJ Reader are fifth alternates.
Look at that list and tell me the AFC will not dominate dodgeball.

No way the NFC can hang in patty cake and hopscotch with these Bengals guys.

He's got six td's this year which Is third most to Kelce and Mckinnon. As much as he sucks running the ball, he knows how to score touchdowns and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

They're all great players but I think I'd trade them all for a healthy Mahomes, if we're being honest.

Hopefully their addition will help the offensive supporting cast keep Mahomes upright all game.. that would be a dream.

Unfortunately for Toney his gift is also a curse. Hopefully the Chiefs can get it tuned down a tick or just replace his hamstrings with titanium bands and be done with it.

Mahomes is going to be fine.

Not really. Once McKinnon fully took his place and got acclimated to the workload he's just proven himself to be a far superior CEH in virtually every way.

At the moment I just want Toney to stay healthy for all of this Bengals game. If that's the case, it's at least one new challenge for the Bengals defense that they've never faced with KC. If he makes it through the Bengals game healthy and the Chiefs win it, obviously you hope for a repeat in the Super Bowl.

One game at a time with Toney. If he's able to be healthy for Playoff runs like Sammy Watkins, the Toney trade was totally worth it. Watkins was a very expensive veteran player, whereas Toney is on a cheap rookie contract. You can afford to have him miss 50% of the regular season games, but you hope he can be there for the Playoffs like Sammy.

He practiced in full and is watching tons of tape whilst he receives treatment. They will already have their game plan in mind so I dont think the treatment will distract him from his study work tbh.

Any touch MEH gets over Pacheco or Mckinnon would be a wasted down. Hopefully he doesn't even get activated.

scho63 01-26-2023 11:08 AM

JuJu, McKinnon and others will need to step up as I expect double coverage on Kelce all day.

In our best performances of the season (Arizona, Tampa and Niners) Clyde scored in all three games and made a big impact. Having all three of Pacheco, Jet and Clyde out there can only help the team imo.

So, this is interesting.

CIN happens to be the worst defense vs. 13 personnel two years running, pass or rushing.

KC is the number 1 offense in 13 personnel in 2022, pass or rushing.

Pacheco/McKinnon might be the surprise heroes of this game should KC win on Sunday.
