You detractors are just straight-up idiots. You don't get it, though it's been explained to you 100 times, and you probably never will. Some of you really believe that changing a regime somehow wipes the history-slate clean, though that proven history of FAIL is tied to one common denominator, a denominator which continues to this day.
And then there are you San Francisco shit-for-brains, who feel that we should be "lucky" to repeat our same old mistake with your latest cast-off. YOU folks can truly go **** yourselves. And finally, there's Lil' Dumbass Chiefy True Fan who only cares about winning enough to be a non-joke in the league(as well as a non-factor for a Championship, though he'll nevar acknowledge it because hope rides high(!), and "by golly, we'll get it RIGHT THIS TIME!). Bottom Line: Axl will NOT break this longstanding chain of events. It's not in his DNA. You can give him every single Chief in history that you would love to have on this team, in the PRIME of their playing years, and it's not going down. You can build that fool a super-line and clone Jerry Rice: NOT happening. I'll enjoy not completely sucking until we have an actual future in place at the position, and THANK GOD we hired Dorsey who's not going to **** around with this shit forever during his tenure here. That is a man who will eventually, if necessary, confiscate Reid's mixed plate if shit goes stagnant at the Quarterback position in the name of an unwarranted man-crush. |

99 browns drafted Tim couch Rams had a guy who was once bagging groceries It was the Browns that had the right choice. Houston Texans fans are mad they got rid of David Carr and brought in Matt Schaub who although he's having bad year this year has been pretty good for them over all The Cards Hated that same guy that was with the rams in 99 that took them to the superbowl We all hated Trent Green Love Brodie Croyle The Saints fans Hate Drew Brees Cowboys fans hate tony Romo (well actually some do) Yep the ONLY way to get a qb is through the draft |

You don't have to have a high powered offense to win the superbowl even today. If you have the right mix of offense and defense you can win it. That's what they are trying to build. The offense has shown some flashes. They have looked horrible at others. Smith has made some mistakes but they haven't cost us a game. THe constant bashing of Alex Smith is not called for. First...I never thought he was the pick at 1.1 and I would be interested in knowing how many really feel he would have been the right pick at that spot. If you are arguing that we should have kept our 2nd Round pick and taken a flier on him there I can understand that. But then my next question would have been had we taken him, how many of the impatient fans would be screaming for the Draft Packs head had Geno failed? I'm not convinced some of you would have been as patient with his "growing pains" as you are saying now. I still believe it's too early to call G Smith a boom or bust....5 games really isn't enough to judge him by, anymore than the games Matt Cassel won at NE made him a quality QB. I say you wait until the season is over with....that way if suddenly the Jets go on a 9 game losing streak and Geno's lack of experience is one of the reasons you aren't busy trying to rationalize. And...for those who are detractors, if he matures into the QB that his supporters believe he is/can be then you won't be trying to rationalize either. |

You're right, you CAN win with Dilfer, you CAN with with Alex, and the little bouncing roulette ball sometimes lands on one of those 2 green spaces instead of the 18 red and 18 black. Me? I'll bet red or black everytime. Go back and look at the past 8 QB's to win a SB. 7 of them have something in common. Yes, there is the one exception(green spot), but most are red or black. |

Do you think he should have been 1.1 or would you rather have kept our 2nd Round and taken a flier on whomever was left? (Everyone but E J Manuel) |

The team needed an "Alex Smith"(due to the prospects this year being developmental guys all around), but the cost for Axl was too high IMO, especially if Reid ties himself to him against Dorsey's better judgement. |

Hopefully, Andy and John can and will change this. I'm happy with letting them pick who they feel is best, but for god's sake; make a choice. |

There's no way in all heaven or hell that a coach is going to put real competition against "his" guy, right off the bat(hence the acquisition of Daniel). Axl is getting his shot for at least a couple of seasons because Reid wants it that way. Reid believes in him. For now. So, to answer your question; I didn't win the war of 2013 but unlike Carl, Peeholi, and their gaggle of shit-clowns, I DO believe that Reid/Dorsey will pull the trigger when they find the prospect that can lead this team. I can wait. |

The truth is that he didn't like much of what he saw in the 2013 draft at the QB position, grabbing Smith and Daniels pretty much proves that. I agree with you that I think there is a very good chance of Dorsey taking a guy like Rodgers with a high pick if the value is good and letting him learn the offense for a few seasons. Smith is the transition guy we need right now, and it doesn't hurt that we can win some games in the meantime. If there is anything worth being supremely bitter about it's about not having the first pick in 2012. |
Lets look at the numbers that are meaningful.
Geno: 3-2 with 8 INTs Alex: 5-0 with 3 INTs (almost 3 times as few) The picks alone are killer, especially if you look at WHEN he throws them, with the game on the line. I'll take the guy that takes care of the ball and in the process helps us in the clock management department. |
It's all about taking the shot. Playing it safe for the long haul is a losing philosophy, as has been clearly and abundantly evidenced by this franchise.

The only thing I've gone back and forth with you on is the fact that Eric Fisher is playing like shit, and as the #1 overall pick in the draft and a non-QB, that's ****ing inexcusable. Somehow you've become butthurt to the point that you associate anybody who is critical of the Chiefs as an Alex Smith hater. You're making a huge leap there. I don't hate Alex Smith and never have. Just because I'm still a fan of Geno Smith doesn't change that. That's just a little hint for you to lay low for a bit whenever you join a forum as large and fast-paced as this. You have no clue what the climate or culture is going to be. You might be welcomed. You might be told to get AIDS and die. Regardless, sticking your nose in and swinging your dick hard is a good way to get on people's bad side early on, especially if you're a person such as yourself and not very adept with words or smart about football. Take or leave my advice. It's your choice. |
Quote:
But I also remember a first round guy many years ago that had a poor rookie season and many were calling him a bust. Luckily they got him a buddy to play the other side of the defensive line and the rest was history. |

I'm on so many forums on pretty much all the major sports you Geno lovers are the only ones who have ever had a problem with me. You don't like my view so you throw insults you don't like the FACTS that I have given. So you throw insults. I didn't start that you people did because you didn't like my opinion. Your "advice" is nothing more then hypocrisy. If you want someone to come in and lay low maybe don't start throwing insults at them? Just a thought |

Alex Smith over Geno Smith was not only the right decision by Andy Reid and the Chiefs FO it is also one of the best trades in the NFL in the last several years in terms of a traded players impact on his new team. Alex Smith was a steal for the Chiefs for 2 2nd round picks. The 2014 2nd will only be a late 2nd round pick because Alex ain't losing more than 5 games this season. 25-5-1 #1 wining QB in the NFL since 2011. If your not happy with Alex as Chiefs QB your not a real Chiefs fan your an idiot troll loser and you need to get off your mothers internet connection and get a life.
We need to get Alex more recognition around the NFL for the superb job he is doing for the Chiefs here in Kansas City and we need to sign Alex long term we don't want to lose him in FA. With Alex under center our Chiefs have a legit chance to go to the AFC Championship Game and beyond for at least the next 5-7 years!!!!! GO ALEX GO!!!!! GO CHIEFS GO!!!!! |

Alex Smith vs Geno Smith really shouldn't be the discussion here. It should be Geno Smith is looking like a far better investment than Eric Fisher.

Steal my ass. The only way it's a steal is winning a championship and not talking the AFCW. Win in the playoffs and maybe just maybe it was a good trade but if Alex Smith can't get us anywhere and is only here 3-4 years spinning our wheals then it was a shit trade. Lots of football yet needs to play but we could have had a great QB prospect in Geno Smith that could be around for years to come that would open up a 10 year window of opportunity. **** Alex Smith unless he proves his worth in the playoffs. |
