Athleticism. I posted a bit about it here.

He may not get drafted at all.

kccrow 04-30-2022 12:48 PM

Maybe I shouldn't say "at all" but it might be very late.

He does play a little high at times, however, although I do think that comes when his set points and landmarks are stressed.

Draft Network has him rated as a 3rd round value and the #71st rated overall in the draft. They project him as a Guard though, but I doubt that's where Veach has him projected, obviously.

If they’re projecting him as a G then they’re acknowledging exactly what I’m saying.

He doesn’t have great feet. They’ll play at RT but there’s a reason nobody is saying this mountain of a human being is a potential LT.

I mean if you have a mauler this big and this strong who DOES have fast feet, he’s no later than a 2nd rounder and a potential long-term LT.

He doesn’t have good feet for a starting NFL tackle and speed rushers will most assuredly give him problems.

He probably had the worst combine season of anyone.

It was real bad. Then people started to really beat on his tape because of it.

His hands are far worse than his feet. I think you can live with his feet, but he could be better with them and it's not because they are too heavy. My 2 cents.

farmerchief 04-30-2022 12:52 PM

I hope we save one of the 7th picks for Noah Elliss.

I don’t think his feet are awful. And I think they’re actually pretty good for a guy that damn big. But I don’t think they’re an asset at the next level - just not a liability.

It still seems odd to me that we keep trying to build an OL that seems to be trending towards a power man/inside zone sort of hybrid blocking scheme and yet don’t seem to have much interest in actually RUNNING that scheme.

Wow, after catching up on todays action it feels like Veach and company are really killing the draft this year

Bills too.

I'm getting James Hasty vibes from McDuffie.

I’d love another blazer at RB.

Seems like exactly what you’d use a 7th rounder for.

They clearly aren’t interested. They’ve had several opportunities and just aren’t treating edge or DT as any sort of priority.

I don’t get it, but they didn’t ask me.

Then it’s a vet DE after the draft or a trade for one with a 2023 pick.

Vet
Clark
Karlaftis
Danna
Kaindoh

It ain’t great but that all depends on who the vet is.

PriestMaholmes 04-30-2022 01:27 PM

At this point we can just look at PFF top available and have a good idea. Seems like some overlap between how we evaluate and how they do. At least this year

I think you need to go find Nemo or something.

We were probably going to draft another Josh Kaindoh if we had taken a DE in the 3rd and beyond. And in my opinion, those odds just aren't worth it. It'd be one thing if a guy fell who the Chiefs really liked, but they said, "We'd rather have this other player at another position who we believe is going to have a far better chance at being good."

And that's the right approach to a draft. Each and every ****ing time. The Packers were more desperate for WR than we were for DE, and they didn't take one until Watson. Because that's how the draft fell. Again, the right call.

You can't be afraid to take great players whose position doesn't match your exact team needs. The Jets do that kind of shit all the time.

ya gotta think it's about how many rookies they want to depend on in one season.

I mean you're looking at starting one at DE more than likely. One LB is going to play a lot for sure. A CB is likely a day one major contributor if not outright starter, and a S that's likely to play near majority snaps too.

So I would think it's about that, and they plan to add a couple of veterans after the draft and then probably look at D-line again next year.

Same thing with the WR room.

ThyKingdomCome15 04-30-2022 01:46 PM

I'm surprised to see Badie is still out there. I'd take him in the 7th in a heartbeat.

The ravens draft is ****ing bananas. Again.

ntexascardfan 04-30-2022 02:06 PM

Is it crazy to think that with the way we are building out offensive line that we will see a bit of a shift towards an RPO style offense.

Skyy seems like he'd be a good fit in an RPO environment as well.

He’s a fun prospect because if he can stick at RT, he’s going to absolutely **** some guys up when he gets his hands in them. He’s going to embarrass some good players on occasion.

But he may end up on the other side of some posters as well. Especially if he’s playing early.

I kinda wanna see some 1v1 sets between him and Chenal. That’s a lot of nasty colliding.
