We've all said the CB's have been much better than we expected, especially Scandrick.

The issue is at safety. That's been the discussion now in this thread and others for a solid 24 hours.

Matter of fact Earl Thomas actually doesn't miss games...amazing.

Hasn't he been hurt the last 2 seasons?

Absolutely yes.

Replacing Eric Murray with Earl Thomas makes an instant contender to win it all.

It would make us better but I'm not sure it would put us over the top. It'd be worth a 2nd and some change though to give it go.

Mecca 09-24-2018 02:51 PM

Earl Thomas is a CB now I guess, otherwise I'm not sure how that post matters you know cause we are discussing how Murray sucks and Berry never plays.

The issue has been communication and the LBers in coverage sucking ass

You said he ignored the secondary though

He's missed 7 games his whole career..broke his leg 2 years ago and missed 2 last year.

Was 16 every year before that, I'll take that over ACL and achilles.

Scandrick got signed 2 weeks before the season started lets not act like he didn't ignore it.

This is the shit I’m talking about man. Veach had no first rd pick. Even with a first rd pick, you aren’t fixing every problem on this defense.

This defense was bad basically everywhere last year. Every single level thanks to Dorsey.

This same shit will be said if Earl Thomas is traded for.

“But we don’t have a pass rush and our all pro safeties can’t cover forever!”

Let’s just be realistic here

So he was healthy when he was young, now as he's getting older he's getting injured more.

At this rate, they are well on their way to wasting one of the best years by a QB in the history of football.

Replacing Veach, drafting help, all of that crap doesn't help them now. And they should be doing EVERYTHING it takes to help them now.

We've had two of the best games by a QB in the history of football, that's true. And he had a very good game on Sunday too.

Why are we not expecting that he will be great for his whole career? He continues to improve even now. Why do we expect Mahomes to turn into a pumpkin after this season?

Wasn't O'Daniel drafted to be that tweener guy to take some of the coverage duties off the ILBer's?

Surely he would offer some kind of flexibility on known passing downs...or maybe he just is that bad. I dunno.

jaa1025 09-24-2018 02:59 PM

I'm for trading for Thomas because Safeties probably age the best on the defense--generally. He could play 6 more years at a high level.

I bet a 2nd and 4th get it done with a sign and trade. It will likely cost an average of 10 or 11 per year. Sign him to a 5-6 year deal with that average and 30 mil guaranteed.

When Berry gets healthy, you have one of the best safety duo in history and Sutton can finally be more aggressive with pass rush.

We have an extra 2nd that will likely be in the back end of the 2nd round. Makes too much sense to me.

O.city 09-24-2018 03:00 PM

If you make this move, Berry gets healthy and O'daniel actually is worth a shit, the middle of the D is a lot different in a month.
