Best thing that can happen for KC is a straight up pick-em, so it takes away any chance for 'steering'.

I know, I know, it sounds like tin-foil hat shit, but ****ing Carl Cheffers is ****ing corrupt, and you're not going to convince me otherwise.

This isn't even a question at this point, and there's no need to defend yourself. Anyone who doesn't see that certain games are clearly steered is just being willfully ignorant. If anything, the last 2 weeks of officiating proves how well games could be called if the league chose to do so.

Like you said, no scripting or any of that nonsense, but you can even see it on the player's faces when they know they're getting hosed. The body language and tone of the game completely changes.

Whether it's because he's in the pocket of the gambling industry, the league tells him to steer things a certain way, or he's just a scumbag prick is really besides the point. The long and short of it is Carl Cheffers ruins the sanctity of the sport every time he touches a field. Yet the NFL seems to just love the guy. So right there, I think you have your answer as to why he refs the way he does.

The fact that Cheffers has accounted for 17% of the Chiefs total penalties and 20% of their penalty yards this season despite only working two Chiefs games seems to be a suspicious statistical anomaly.

I think the only way I can believe this (and just considering it boils my blood) would be to look at all the other game she's officiated and count the number of flags, the types of penalties, etc.

Could it be he is just one of those refs who calls everything, and our rookie DBs are playing too close, in bad form, not turning their heads etc? Last game he called for us I was yelling at the TV the whole game.

Seems like that stat is a bit off... he threw 15 flags out of the Chiefs' 103 for the season, so 14.5% in two games.

Cheffers also throws 20% more flags than the average ref... 16.12/game vs 13.5 for everyone else.

So, without getting into home vs away and so forth, you'd expect the average ref to throw 6.75 flags on the Chiefs, but would also expect Cheffers to throw 8.1 flags.

The Chiefs had 5.86 flags for the non-Cheffers games and 7.5 with Cheffers... you'd expect Cheffers to throw 7 per game at his +20%, so the difference is a flag more per game.

He hates the Chiefs a flag worth, proven by the "full weight" bullshit, and the flag when the Texans receiver literally ran into the safety.

I don't know about everyone else but when I'm watching the Super Bowl....I want to see as many flags as possible.

The Blake Bell QB sneak does not work very well.

ROFL

You think bringing in Henne on 3rd and 1 is going to work?

Dude, if they do that, it's no longer a SNEAK.

Yeah, it's been refreshing this season for the most part, not seeing any games completely taken over by calls.. the closest would have been Bengals/Bills.

Nothing like the Bucs SB or that regular season Chiefs/Bengals game last year.

Yep they would need a Taysom Hill-type package with Bell or Henne, where defenses have to expect more than just a QB sneak for the play to legitimately be a "sneak".

I say just run Pacheco up the middle and the Chiefs interior offensive line... with two Pro Bowl players and the strength of the line needs to be able to help get a yard.

Using that 13 personnel for those short-yardage run plays should be really effective.

Because with Kelce and Gray, you can't completely sell out. Moreover, bell is really good at finding the underneath zones for short catches.

And it gives you just a little more oomph to push the pile if/when you do hand it off.

Epic ending to the game would be a Patrick Mahomes QB Sneak to score the game winning TD

Epic ending to the game would be us beating their ass by 20+

Hypothetically either nfc team we face in the Super Bowl is a defensive team and more penalties generally favors the passing team (us). We’ll see how it plays if we make it.

I was told there wouldn't be math :D

I appreciate the context. Everyone, let's only be a flag's worth of anxious.

If it comes down to it...do it.

Line up in the bunch formation where they usually throw a bubble screen to Kelce. They'll key on that and leave the middle wide open for Mahomes and Creed.

Line up SAUNDERS in the backfield to shove Mahomes in. LMAO

What's a unsportsmanlike conduct or roughing the passer penalty if it's your ticket to the SuperBowl? Or put some scrub in there and let him be the goon who gets tossed out of the game.
