It’s pretty clear who the best team is.
Looking forward to Monday. |
Nick Wright getting absolutely destroyed in this Twitter thread:

Remember when Zach Lowe wrote about how he didn't like Jokic's kicks and Kirk Goldsberry helped torpedo his MVP case with that piece on his defense and Kendrick Perkins said he won MVPs because voters are racist and Stephen A. He’s not going to lock someone up but he’s not as bad of a defender as he looks like. He does run weird though. And I think it subconsciously impacts how we look at him. Quote:

Nuggets might be starting a dynasty. And I think it’s possible for them to make another run bc of their style of play. They are the number 1 passing team. Opponents can’t focus on one player.

Jokic is just terrible for the NBA. Nobody really wants to watch this shit. I just watch for a bit and turn the channel. Just not an engaging style of basketball TO ME.

I actually find it quite fun to watch Denver play basketball. Despise watching teams with players like Harden that want to ISO on offense all ****ing game long.
Quote:
I would much rather watch a fundamentally sound team play like DEN, than watch a team play iso ball, or worse yet, chuck up missed 3s endlessly. |
Quote:
It was like watching KU sleepwalk their way to a 15 point win against Assberg State in a December. |
Quote:
It did look a little sloppy, but I haven't seen DEN play this season outside of the playoffs, so I wasn't sure. But they play solid defense, rotate well, run actual plays, and take the points the other team gives them, mostly. MIA kind of looks like they're playing pickup ball. |

It doesn't matter the subject, your takes are always ****ing terrible. It's not Jokic's fault that the best the East had to offer was an 8th seed that had no business making it to the Finals. |

They all are. |
Sooo, not seeing anyone talking about Conor McGregor literally knocking the Heats mascot out cold on their home floor... dude was hospitalized, what the hells going on here?

Yea, Zion is MUCH better than Jokic for the game! |

Doesn't sound like you want to watch good basketball, just great athletes. In which case, you could just watch gymnastics, or that American ninja thing. Then you wouldn't have to be bothered by such trivialities like solid fundamentals, coaching, etc. |
Quote:
Everyone's hero Michael Jordan was definitely an iso player and one that fit that mold. That is why it was so fun to watch. There is some allure in the Golden State Warriors with their spacing & passing it quickly every which way to a shooter, but the absolute nut low is watching plodding big men - yes Jokic is a decent athlete but he's still plodding. Nothing jumps out at you, it's that old man at the YMCA game he's got. |
Quote:
Yeah, that’s McGregor, add in the fact that he now has what feels like unlimited income, reports of substance abuse, and now the never easy news that his star is fading - and it leads to very public meltdowns especially when he’s seemed to have lost himself in the act. It’s been ugly, to say the least, and he seems to be on the Tyson trajectory before the PR rehab he got with The Hangover. |
Quote:
McGregor is an asshole, but whoever came up with that dumb skit is to blame for this one IMO. |

Spoiler!
McGregor's just been the guy that always takes things too far now and did it again here. He attacked a fan taking a picture just a couple of years back and attacked the Italian equivalent of Ryan Seacrest (breaking his nose). In a scripted MMA beef he also had him and his boys attack his opponents chartered bus, breaking windows in the process. I agree it was a terrible idea by the NBA to do this with Conor's recent history and I wonder with the inevitable fallout (and lawsuit) if NBA owners will reconsider this trend. |

Letting them play. Damn getting physical early
Yikes. This is some laughably heinous refball.
Miami is playing with a ton of energy, but I don't see them being able to maintain this pace.
Refs impacting the game by letting one team be physical and the other not
'physical' is an understatement LMAO
Nuggets shooting like shit from 3 and only down 7 at half. I think they will get hot and put it away
Miami should be scared shitless. That was an awful half of basketball by Denver and they're still easily in range of running away if even one guy gets hot.
Denver is choking tonight. Not surprising given what is on the line. That probably won't last the entire game, but it's Miami's only chance.
Hope Miami can pull it out. Make it interesting to go back to Miami. Seems like bam is the only heat player really into it though. So the fact the nuggets have matched the rest of the heat seems like it could go either way in the 2nd.
Partly that and partly Jokic being scared to play with any physicality given the heinous refball for that stretch. It's totally ****ed his entire game up.

Then again
Jokic is doing his usual, but the others aren't. At least not yet.
I recall the Raptors played a really choky game like this up 3-1 on the KD Warriors at home before closing it on the road. Kawhi nearly won it for them at the end of game 5 anyway before Iguodala hit a 3 at the end to push it 6. |
With all that physical play Nuggets would be winning if they would just hit their free throws.
Jimmy Butler looks even more broken and old than usual. The Heat are playing horrific half court offense.
This is elite nba basketball. Played at the highest level.
Good thing Porter Jr can rebound because he sucks at everything else tonight.
Quote:
LMAO That was an entertaining stretch of awful basketball

Porter with a glimpse of what could've been if not for the ****ed back.
Not long after I speak poorly on Porter he nails a big 3.
What is Cody Zeller doing on the court in the 4th quarter of an elimination game? LMAO
Did they want to make their half court garbage offense even worse and give Jokic a player he can completely torch at the same time? They definitely succeeded in that minute.
Miami's offense is Lowry just jacking up crazy 3s that go in.
They would be up by 10 if they could just make their free throws

Heat look like an 8 seed that had no business in the Finals.

The commish said he disliked 90’s basketball but he is watching it in person tonight. Bully ball at its finest
Quote:
That's the thing about two-way players. They can be productive even when their offense isn't going. |
Quote:
They pulled Lowry? Yeah, don't think they can afford that at all the way Butler is playing tonight.
All of these players are choking harder than anyone I've ever seen.
The **** am I watching
Quote:
His defense was nails, tho. You know how Butler is rumored to have a similar injury to Patrick in these finals? He has NOT put in a similar performance. He has 5 minutes left to change that. |
That is a foul on Butler
