I don't have a fair solution, but the most logical thing to do is to move the playoffs back 1 week. You can still have the SB on time and it shouldn't be that difficult reschedule playoff games with this much lead time. Any game past the wildcard games are pure speculation when it comes down to location and times. The 2nd option would be to call the game with the Bengals the winner. I don't see declaring the game a tie as an equitable solution.

I don't want to sound callous, but as someone mentioned earlier, had this happened in a practice there wouldn't be a question. For all we know, the Bengals would have won the game.

The idea that they'd turn that into something that's like 80/20 is almost unfathomable.

I know people here are gonna get worked up over this, but unless there's any actual confirmation that it's even remotely a potential option, I wouldn't waste my time getting angry.

Well, if you consider Hamlin and Tarryon Johnson as in game injuries and unavailable, Buffalo had even less chance in that game.

Both those guys are vital to Bills D with Micah Hyde inactive, and Johnson was out for head injury that he probably would not be cleared for.

"if there's a seeding issue"

like the bills not getting the one seed....big issue!

Nah, it's indefensible. Non-math people can do basic math and determine that there's nothing remotely reasonable about it. There's nothing cloaking that.

If the NFL decided to hold a decathlon competition to determine seeding, and a different Chief had to compete for each event, which Chiefs would you pick for each event? Here's my first cut, without knowing players' experience in track and field.

100 metres - Mecole Hardman
Long jump - Kadarius Toney
Shot put - Derrick Nnadi
High jump - Joshua Williams
400 metres - Marquez Valdez-Scantling
110 metres hurdles - Isaih Pacheco
Discus throw - Trey Smith
Pole vault - Trent McDuffie
Javelin throw - Patrick Mahomes II
1500 metres - Jaylen Watson

Moving the playoffs a week later sounds a lot better than stealing a win from the Chiefs with a random drawing of what should be labeled "No Contest" for a team that has won over 81% of the games this season.

If that supposedly random drawing happens, you are looking at a rigged situation. Nothing random about a stacked deck with 81% chance of one thing happening compared to another thing.

The NFL would not need a universal week 19, play the 3 NFC wildcards and the 4 v 5 AFC on regular schedule if Bengals beat Ravens week 18.

Have Bills at Bengals continued and play the other 2 AFC wildcard games on 4 or 5 day interval.

The Chiefs win but still lose. Why even play the game this weekend if they are considering that reeruned idea.

The most straight forward scenario (assuming all three teams win this weekend)…

Chiefs - 14 wins
Buffalo - 13 wins
Cincy - 12 wins

Most wins and best winning % gets the # 1 seed… not that difficult.

staylor26 01-03-2023 09:42 PM

"Hey Chiefs,

We know that you had to actually play a full game, and risk guys getting injured, but we're going to take that W away from you because it's the fair thing to do!"

Complete and utter bullshit.

This just seems like a way for the NFL to give the #1 seed to Buffalo and sell it as "fair".

this. it'd BS , so I really hope it's not true
