I’m glad your VC/finance/vulture capital job allows enough raping and pillaging of the middle class to attend 7 openers. Those sweetheart tax rates probably don’t hurt either.

Gold star.

My god, you're a miserable prick.

I’m not afraid to push back with someone pulls Dane-type showy one-upmanship, no.

“I was at the game” is a douchy Trump card.

This sounds like a plan:

At this point, if I'm the Chiefs I do a slightly modified version of what Brisco said on Twitter. Tell Chris and the Katz that the last offer is the final offer. He signs it now and gets to practice for week 1, or we pull the offer and see him week 8 and tag him next off-season. He can earn 47m the next 2 years (19.5 + 27.5) or he can earn 34m (11m after losing game checks plus 23m tag next year), his choice.

I'm very proud that you have no idea what I do for a living nor the taxes that I pay. But nice try pretending to be so very educated on all things.

"I was at the game" is a reasonable retort when someone is telling you about a record that is obvious to people here who follow the team closely.

Oh, Andy Reid is good in openers? Oh, Andy Reid is good after a bye? Had no idea. Please, tell me more because I can't Belize it.

This won't sit well missing real games. Not just with fans but his teammates. No one in that locker room would've cared if he missed all of camp and came back week 1...you can't be a leader while sitting in the pool with a cigar being stubborn as shit. Not a good look at all. I hope Chris comes back by week 2 to minimize the damage.

Maybe if it was 3 new years with the third year 2026 vesting in summer 2025.

If franchise tag is 120% of 2023 cap hit. Chiefs have to own the cap hit number number they agreed to.

Chiefs are saying they do not want to extend him unless he bails them out from the 2024 franchise tag number.

Chiefs should just offer Jones to play out current contract and give him a small signing bonus on a voidable 2024 to get some 2023 cap relief and promise not to franchise tag him in 2024.

Let him walk for a comp pick or consider making an offer in 2024 when he can negotiate with all the other teams.

At this point it is obvious you are simply trolling, because you are still pointing at the one number that has been explained numerous times to you why is irrelevant.

No, you look to push back when there is no reason for it. That says way more about you. Mad at others for your failures.

I think what you said is the easiest explanation of this and should make sense to those that don't understand. There shouldn't be any more questions about this. Good job.

Now if the Chiefs were to tear up the final year of his contract (this season) then we can start talking about $24 million/avg but that is not the case.

RunKC 09-04-2023 09:20 AM

I agree with what many here have said. If he hasn't already, Veach should give them the final offer and tell them that's it. If they don't like it they can hold out until week 8 and then we'll do this song and dance again next year if we want to....or we can trade him to some shithole like Arizona.

It's now game week and if he doesn't show up by Thursday then tell him "contract talks are over. We'll see you when you show up." He's now becoming a big distraction that isn't needed.

It's so bizarre that his agent is doing this. Like c'mom dude. If your client reports this month the Chiefs cannot tag him bc it would be around $30-33 million (depending on how many games he misses).

Starting to think that these guys were Rosenhaus' personal coffee getters for how dumb they are.

Especially if the L's pile up. Deal is, CJ has shown a side that is not conducive to being a leader. Just like E.B.. Gonna be hard to take him for one when he returns.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think the team really leaned on Jones for leadership. Seems like Frank or the veteran mercenaries like Dunlap took the lead on the front end.
