“I was at the game” is a douchy Trump card. |
This sounds like a plan:
At this point, if I'm the Chiefs I do a slightly modified version of what Brisco said on Twitter. Tell Chris and the Katz that the last offer is the final offer. He signs it now and gets to practice for week 1, or we pull the offer and see him week 8 and tag him next off-season. He can earn 47m the next 2 years (19.5 + 27.5) or he can earn 34m (11m after losing game checks plus 23m tag next year), his choice. |

"I was at the game" is a reasonable retort when someone is telling you about a record that is obvious to people here who follow the team closely. Oh, Andy Reid is good in openers? Oh, Andy Reid is good after a bye? Had no idea. Please, tell me more because I can't Belize it. |

Now if the Chiefs were to tear up the final year of his contract (this season) then we can start talking about $24 million/avg but that is not the case. |
I agree with what many here have said. If he hasn't already, Veach should give them the final offer and tell them that's it. If they don't like it they can hold out until week 8 and then we'll do this song and dance again next year if we want to....or we can trade him to some shithole like Arizona.
It's now game week and if he doesn't show up by Thursday then tell him "contract talks are over. We'll see you when you show up." He's now becoming a big distraction that isn't needed. It's so bizarre that his agent is doing this. Like c'mom dude. If your client reports this month the Chiefs cannot tag him bc it would be around $30-33 million (depending on how many games he misses). Starting to think that these guys were Rosenhaus' personal coffee getters for how dumb they are. |
