“I was soft,” Selden said. “I didn’t finish well. I got to the basket how I wanted to, I just didn’t finish how I wanted to. It wasn’t on me on a scale of me working hard or practicing finishing. It was just doing it.

Perry is too soft to admit how soft he is.

He's a 6'6" SG. 14th overall per ESPN and 11th on Rivals. The nice thing is that he doesn't overlap with Porter or Josh Jackson. Could still land as top SF. We'd have a sick tall perimeter.

There is some worry that Alabama has made a late push. Its awfully reminiscent of another Texas recruit I don't care to mention. The fear is his circle is trying to steer him there and that, for reasons unknown ($$$), his circle might win out.

The pressure for Self to win another title is slowing building this year.

And I get the feeling HCBS wouldn't have it any other way...

He can say that, but Layups and dunks were about all he hit last year. 38% from the floor was one of the worse percentages in decades at KU and he shot 66% from the line to barely edge out Traylor for last on team (which shot 73%, higher if you take his attempts out). His shooting is the issue not his finishing. Hope it comes alive this year

So he is going to be on the hot seat and people want to get rid of him if he doesn't win a national championship soon?

Sounds like some stupid fans.

No, not saying that at all.

But people are expecting something big this year. Everyone knows that, including the head coach...

And I think he's ready.

Yes, another year of Perry Ellis "leading" this basketball team. Fortunately it will be the last and we can finally end the worst period in the Self era.

CoMoChief 07-30-2015 08:43 PM

Selden was a HUGE disappointment last season with exception to a few games.

Perry Ellis is the softest 4-man in the NCAA.

I don't disagree with you at all. In 14 he hit some big shots and made teams respect us from the outside. In 15 every shot to turn or maintain momentum, every shot at the end of a shot clock or every shot in an important possession at the end went CLANG.

But he also got several good looks that he biffed in the lane. Even more that he made some dumb ass wild pass that went out of bounds or completely killed the flow of the offense.

There was a stretch in the conference that he played pretty tough. And it's pretty much the reason we won the conference. Yep. I said it. We won the conference because Perry played tough for a stretch of games.

Then he got hurt and it went to ****.

Hopefully he comes back remembering that good things happen when he hustles and plays physical. If not, I really hope we don't need his offense and can put in someone who will play hard nosed.

Really sucks that all that talent ended up in such a soft player.

I do feel for him though. It must be tough to play a way that doesn't fit what you're comfortable doing.

Comfort has little to do with success.
