It's 1 game. If the Royals lose tomorrow then you can start to worry.

I am worried with Cueto on the mound.

I get it.

But I also realize that what happens in a month to my children is astronomical when compared to a dopey baseball team.

The bottom line is that I'm tired of sports and tired of wasting time on things that are no longer relevant to my life.

The Chiefs have been shit for the past 44 years of my life. The Royals were shit for 29 of the past 30 years of my life.

It's time to refocus and put that energy elsewhere.

You look fantastic for your age. No homo.

The majority were to proclaim the Alex Smith era over before it began, only see him lead the Chiefs to a 9-0 start, an 11-5 record and a playoff berth his first season.

Yet Johnny Cueto still has a chance and Zobrist is really special, despite the 10-17 record in September and a drab playoff game.

This forum hasn't just jumped the shark, it's jumped ten megalodon's

When you act like Zobrist hasn't been everything that was hoped for when they traded for him, you look like you don't know baseball very well.

Zobrist has performed for KC like the consistent 5 WAR player he has been over the past several years. He has been every bit as good as could be reasonably hoped he would be.

Ben Zobrist is very, very good at baseball. Comparing him to Alex Smith is ridiculous.

Johnny Cueto has been a disappointment , but he had what amounted to one bad half of football after the trade. Comparing him to Alex Smith is also ridiculous.

alex smith has NEVER come close to being as elite as those guys have been in the past, either.

It seems to be an identity thing that propelled us forward, and somewhere along the way we lost it. That's way more worrying than the Royals not finishing the month of September (which is debatable)

I've noticed that as well. I thought that maybe Ned was just allowing his players to "play" in September and that he'd get back to it in October but tonight proved otherwise. The Royals just aren't manufacturing runs anymore.

I truly believe that everyone involved is just tired, mentally and physically.

Everything is lining up so perfectly for us to make a run at the World Series again. Got injuries today on the Jays and Rangers, but all we have in our way is this annoying ass Astros team that was a joke up until they beat the Yankees.

Yay, Zobrist helped the Royals to a 10-17 record in September. I'm sure they would have been 5-22 without him, amirite?

Some of you guys rely on stats way too much instead of using your eyes.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, he was a rental. Double yay.

They traded for Zobrist in July. I hope they make an effort to re-sign him. He's an on base machine up there at the plate and he gives the team so much flexibility. There aren't many guys like him out there anymore.

If you have watched Ben Zobrist play, and can't see the value he has added, I think I'm going to stop trying to have any baseball conversations with you, because the guy is a very good player who helps you win in all phases of the game.

What was the Royals record after acquiring Zobrist? They were great in August and had five wins to close out the season in October.

The guy is Alex Gordon at the plate, with the ability to play a good 2B or RF. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

It's a weird - and incorrect - area to cast anger.

You want to complain about Cueto, go ahead. He has been a disappointment. But Zobrist has been nothing but a positive.

And this where is becomes "weird" talking to "scouts", which I do know in Los Angeles.

Is it your opinion that without Zobrist, the Royals would have lost the Central? Was it worth giving up pitchers on a pitching starved team?

In August, all of the guys I know said "Yes". I disagreed. I've yet to hear back from anyone tonight but I'll be curious about their responses.

I know that you justified both trades, which is fine. I was on the other side of the fence. No one will know for certain until next year and the coming years but IMO, the trades were fruitless from the beginning.

Now, the Royals still have an opportunity to prove me wrong (and I hope they do) but as of today, I think the organization will regret giving up five pitchers for two rentals that led them no where.

What major pitching did we give up? We gave up one blue chip propsect in Manea. Finnegan was a reliever. The other two AAAA guys in our organization and a throw in.

I've been a die hard supporter of both teams since I left in February 1993 but it's time for me to acknowledge my current responsibilities. Reading books and watching educational programs is more important than a watching baseball team 2,000 miles a way in a city in which I don't live.

Pretty humbling.

Great, you don't need to explain yourself to us. Now go **** off and don't come back.

I didn't say "Major", just five pitchers.

At this point, I'd rather have their potential than Cueto, which is a pretty odd statement to make prior to the trade.

I'll tell you what: You put up a poll to vote us both off the island.

You win, I won't come back, ever. I win, you're wanking everyday to DC.

Deal?
