That's not even close to the same thing. Self was trying to motivate his starting PG. EJ has since said that he needed to be motivated like that. I have no problem with a coach doing that.

I admit that I didn't follow the Hawks that much back in those days. I was a fan but was more interested in partying and other teenage things. That was a cool doc that really put a lot of things into perspective. That was a top 10 preseason ranked team that went through a ton of adversity.

And I remember Billy Tubbs being a douche from seeing him coaching OU in the early 90s. But man, this shows that he was even more of a royal jack a$$ than I ever knew.

We didn't win all the rest of the years without the best team.

Point: the NCAA Tourney is actually quite fair in the long run.

Hard to say. Kentucky was a 1-seed, played for the NC (losing in OT), and led the nation in scoring margin at +22 vs our +18. I would argue that we may have been equal but I cannot say we were better.

In 2003 we led the nation in scoring margin and finished #1 in KenPom. We finished #1 in Sagarin's predictor and #2 overall I believe. That's good enough for me. I don't have good data for 1997 so I can't make arguments for them really.

He's weak back to the basket player with virtually no power, strength, nose for the ball, doesn't know how to get open, I could go on. The good thing is that some of those things can be learned....the bad part is that he sucks overall so much it's not going to matter, he won't amount to much.

The way I understand it is that Duke is still considered a #1 (don't know how that's possible, whatever) and if KU wins today they will bump Duke down to a #2 and KU moves to a #1.
