We all knew Smith was another upscale Cassel move, but at least we have a QB guru at the helm instead of Scooter so if that UDFA is a badass then Alex is gone at the end of his remaining contract.

IF Smith is serviceable for awhile, I don't care how, or for what he was acquired, if Reid grooms a QB in the meantime.

We really need to watch the backup QB situation more than usual because of Smith's injury history. If they are really planning to use the pass/run option then Alex may be the 1st one the ACL crew 2013 addition.
