Then why is there so much chatter to the contrary, by reliable sources, even Wilson himself?

It doesn't matter.

No. Never in the history of the NFL has a team publicly stated that they question whether or not to negotiate a contract with their "Franchise QB".

I'll bet you $500 that Russell Wilson is a Seahawk in 2017. Bet?

**** no. I don't make bets over circumstances in which I have no control. You shouldn't, either.

If Russell Wilson isn't a Seahawk this year I'll eat two bugs.

He'll be a Seahawk in 2015. The question is whether or not he'll be a Seahawk long term.

And if you think that's really a question you're dumb

If my accounting is correct, you'll then owe us three.

That's correct

I could see them flipping him for the two firsts and a second maybe.

He was a third rounder. Great value, pay him nothing win one super bowl, play in another possibly another this year and then get another one plus players.

Wasn't there a thread about how Matt Ryan wasn't going to get a new contract right before he got the biggest contract in history?

Yes, but this time it's really gonna happen.

Who would you rather have as your QB, Wilson or Luck? This is the real question.

I get it.

Andrew Luck has the pedigree and the physical tools.
He is the prototype.

No question he's on his way to be one of the all timers.

Russel Wilson is still a project in the works.
He is far from the prototypical pocket passer, but IMO, with his intelligence and work ethic, has Drew Brees potential as a pocket passer.
But that clearly isn't a sure thing.

One thing he does bring is his innate abilitity to make plays with his arm when protection breaks down and he's forced to break containment.

So the question is, should I go with the sure thing, or risk the uncertainty?

So, yeah, I am taking Wilson.

Huge risk.
Huge potential reward.

Along with his ability to make plays, is the already proven ability to make plays when it matters most.

I don't need big numbers.
I need big wins, and Wilson has proven he gets those.

Not even close. Russell Wilson had a significantly better WR corps to throw to last season and it wasn't even close.

Our WR corps was terrible, and it was even worse when you look at who was available week by week due to suspension/injury.

Hootie 06-27-2015 11:24 AM

Yeah man, Doug Baldwin is so good
