I wonder how much the Chiefs will show to the Colts though.

Almost a guaranteed chance that the Colts are who the Chiefs will play.

Actually, if the Colts were to win Sunday, there's a decent chance we'd face NE or Cincinnati.

Indy has a legit shot to reach the 2 seed, believe it or not.

Not really.

Jamaal Charles scored a lot of points.

Alex is still not pushing the ball down the field enough.

I waited a couple of months for the Denver games, and was actually more optimistic than any other point of the season after the 2nd loss, considering we've all known they're at least another season away, and they did what I was hoping, which was to simply compete.

So yeah, there's the next step that every skeptic has yet to see, and it's a bit tougher than beating up on the quitters in DC or the hapless Raiders.... and while I'm certainly not going to drop $500+ to see them in a road playoff game, I've gone from apathetic/jaded to cautiously optimistic... baby steps.

This post and the other everyone is quoting are very reasonable, its progress... just keep making your appointments with Dr. Leo Marvin and you'll be a full fledged Alexfanatic in no time! :D

What more did you need Alex Smith to do?

Simple

Cure cancer
End Global warming
End world huger
pay off the national debt
discover alien life

All while juggling on one foot blindfolded

It's not that hard

This is true, but I think after 14 games it is safe to say that our offense isn't built to do this.

We got him at the peak of his career to play on a team that was ready to win now. The haters have been completely punked.
The last straw they had to pull on was that he wouldn't be able to win without an elite D.
Well the D tanked and he stepped up to the plate.
We are in no way winning in spite of him as they claimed earlier in the year.
And at his age he has done nothing but improve since the day he was signed.

WINNING

Or he could just win 1 playoff game. It has happened before.

I mean it's not like we haven't seen a middling Chiefs QB throw 5 TDs against a crappy AFC West team before, y'know?

Grbac's 5 TD passes put Chiefs in charge

The Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The last Kansas City quarterback to throw five touchdown passes in one game went to the Hall of Fame.

Elvis Grbac was happy just to get out of the doghouse.

"If anybody in Kansas City deserves to be the man around here it's Elvis Grbac," center Tim Grunhard said after Grbac's five TD passes led the Chiefs to a 42-10 victory over winless San Diego yesterday.

"He's taken more than anybody has ever taken in the history of this organization. Five touchdowns? Are you kidding me? I'm proud to snap the ball to him."

11th in plays over 20 yards IIRC.

And he's only been pushing the ball downfield for 5 or 6 weeks.

He's doing exactly what we said he would once he was comfortable in the offense.
Produce.
Shit, he's actually producing more than I ever thought he would.
The guy hits like 7 different receivers almost every game.
He has played damn well. To deny that that is just being hard headed.

Definitely. The Vick-led Eagles weren't entirely terrible though, just more turnover prone.

People were quick to write them off but they had a stretch where they played the Chargers, Chiefs, then Broncos. Most teams in the league would be lucky to make it out of that stretch with a single win.

Vick went down and Foles stepped up in a big way but they still got slaughtered by the Cowboys and Vikings. Hardly prime cut losses there..

I think we'd beat the Eagles if we played them again with Foles at the helm.

Elvis Grbac seems like your dream QB. Big, strong arm. Complete douchebag. Never wins anything. All the traits in a Clay QB.

You KNOW that's lying through your teeth.

For the season he has just 38 attempts over 20 yards...22nd.

He is not pushing it down the field. He never has and he never will.
