That could be true. I know I owned a goofy huntin' dog, he wanted to be treated poorly. I finally took him back to the guy I bought him from.

Please, for your own sake, don't ever come to Iowa.

I may be glad I moved out of Iowa, but I take offense to this. Most of my family and friends still live in Iowa. You'll never find more caring, generous and honest people anywhere. Sure, they have dialup internet and have to drive ten miles to buy milk, but I don't worry about being treated poorly. I feel safe taking our kids to my parents house and allowing them to play outside. My parents have lived in their house alot less time than I've lived in my apartment and they've actually met their neighbors. I graduated high school in Iowa, and would have had no problem going on to college had I chosen that route. There are certain benefits to living in the city, and I've chosen these over small town life, but please don't say Iowa's people suck. It makes YOU sound ignorant.

Just woke up. Hadn't had coffee yet. Much more understanding now. Please forgive me for bitching you out a little bit.

Aint no thang, glad to see you stick up for your home state. If you are ever in Cedar Rapids in the summertime stop in to Mahoneys, I'll buy you a beer if I'm in town.

Thanks. I grew up in SW Iowa. Never been to Cedar Rapids. Visisted my parents last week. I had forgotten how much slower everything moves. My Mom has to drive the same amount of time as I do to get to work, but she drives through a beautiful state park. I hit about ten stoplights. I literally grew up next door to a cow pasture. I miss the simplicity sometimes.

I grew up in Iowa. I enjoyed my formative years there. I'm not sure I'd want to raise my kids in the town in which I grew up, but it's a fine state. I'm not rabidly loyal to the state much like I'm not a hardcore Marine veteran but to each their own.

I like visiting - I have plenty of dear friends from there.

I happen to be raising my kids in the town where you grew up.

With the 101st post (damn you Parker), I'd just like to reiterate that Iowa still sucks. :p

Hey guys and gals. I just wanted to apologize publically to Iowanian and Skip for going off on here last night. I got a little carried away and behaved like a dumbshit. I was having a bad night but that's no excuse. Sorry to all who had to witness my dumbassery.

I live in Nebraska but work in Council Bluffs IA. I have to say, I consider CB to be the armpit of the Midwest. Now, us Nebraska folks love to make fun of Iowegians, as much as they love to make fun of us. I dig Nebraska, with the exception of the taxes which are high for a conservative state. That may be because we only have like 6 people living here. But I digress. Iowa to me is like a little brother, I like to make fun of it, but it's actually allright...

Umm, Council Bluffs is zoned as Omaha's trailer park. It's hardly indicative of the rest of Iowa.

I've never been to Iowa, but I'm sure it's a good place to live and raise a family. I used to take for granted how genuinely decent and polite people were in the midwest until I moved to the sunshine state. I'm sure there's lots of cornfields there, but it's better than having a lot of rude obnoxious a-holes from NY, NJ, etc.
