Direckshun,

Albert is a no lose prospect. He's got the ability to be an All-Pro LT, and if he can't put it together out there, he's a dominant guard.

You can't criticize us in terms of value or talent -- we ended up with three of the most talented players from this weekend altogether. Dorsey was a brilliant pick, and probably the best possible option we could have had.

But Albert is completely unproven at tackle. Guard is an awful position to Draft nonetheless. Giving up two picks for him seemed like a disasterous decision. Flowers is incredibly talented but he's got so many character concerns my brain is exploding.

Here's hoping we continue drafting talented players. But here's hoping we avoid some of the sloppy decisioin making from an absolutely zany day one.

Your absolutely right! I don't see why we couldn't get Chris Long and Matt Ryan and Mcfadden as our Rb of the future. Whats wrong with One Arrowhead Drive.

Honestly, that's the rosiest scenario there is. Nobody knows if Albert can even work at OT, much less LT, much less be All Pro at it. Hell I think more people (including the vast universe of non-Chiefs fans, not just us here at CP) would assume that Otah has a better shot at that than Albert.

And guess what happens if Otah somehow sucks at LT? He can become a dominant guard.

I would have preferred him at 17. But eh, nothing I can do about it now.

I haven't seen or listened to any local press on the draft yet (that comes tomorrow) but the consensus from the non-affiliated (to a city/team) national press I've seen seems to be that Albert was the 2nd best tackle prospect in the draft, and I've heard conjecture more than once that he could be better than Long in 2 or 3 years.

At the end of the day, the most important opinion of all is the Chiefs', most important because they're the ones with everything to lose/gain. They're the ones who have to gamble on what they believe, and reality is that they just don't move up to take him at 15 if they have any question at all about whether he's going to be their left tackle in time, or about whether he's going to be a dominant one.

Well I can't really argue with that.

The whispers I heard was that Clady was the best pure LT in the Draft, that Long is a monster RT with potential to man down LT, that Albert is a wild card but nobody's sure if they've ever seen a guard witih his skillset, and that Otah is the power tackle to Williams' finesse.

If we took Will Shields in the first round, some people would grade it a C because "you don't take guards in the first round."
