I guess he figured his defense was sucking this half. Plus, they're lucky that that CB played extremely poorly on TT's best receiver.

Well, it's probably a little of Leach having a shit ton of confidence in his offense as well as not having much confidence in his defense. Nebraska has a good chance to tie it up here.
