An US Ambassador on NBC just called this an act of war and called for full military response to whoever was responsible.

One Boeing 747 was flown along the highway reportedly for 8 minutes, assumedly to avoid radar, then climbed back up in altitude to cause the second impoact on the other world trade tower.

It has also been reported that this means that American pilots were not in in control of the plane. American pilots are instructed to sacrifice themselves if thier plane is trying to be used to as an offensive weapon against military or civilian targets.

These were pilots from another country. This was a well planned, well orchestrated attack.

This does not seem like a group of a few thousand idiots, this is a planned military offensive...

With the failure of America to attend the Durban conference to promote anti-semitism, Yasser Arafat has perpetrated a new Pearl harbor on America, sparked not by economic issues but by religious hatred. This also is a day that will live in infamy. The infernal engine of state-sponsored terrorism has reached a new level of perversity. If anyone ever doubted the true evil he represents, there can be no doubts now. It is time for the United States of America and her allies to declare total war on these despicable cowards. Anyone who asists or defends them must be treated as an enemy of the state. There can be no neutrals in this assault against humanity. It is time once again to raise the terrible swift sword against our enemies.

DaWolf 09-11-2001 10:26 AM

Just to be clear, while I disagree we should start a war at this point, I totally agree, countries who harbor or support terrorists like this need to be held accountable. For example, if we find out that Iran provided funding for this group or something like that, then they do become the enemy, they do need to answer for that, and they better be willing to point out who it was. I don't think bombing them or another country solves the problem,
but obviously, something would need to be done...

Rausch 09-11-2001 10:27 AM

Arrafat came on a news conference, scared out of his mind, and did everything but beg us not to whipe him off the planet.

He's a piece of ****, but it was obvious he didn't do this. The guy was about ready to cry, he couldn't even hardly speak he was soo terrified.

Phobia 09-11-2001 10:28 AM

DaWolf,

If Iran or any other country provided ANY amount of assistance to these psycos, then her leadership needs to experience an explosive supposatory courtesy of GDub. No questions asked.

Mayor of New York is pondering weather or not to declare a state of marshal law....

He's going to meet with the governor....

Gaz 09-11-2001 10:30 AM

Whomever it is, wherever they go...

DaWolf-

I am not talking about the cannon fodder who fly planes into buildings. I am talking about the brains and money behind the scheme.

And perhaps I have not been clear about "overwhelming." The price must be set so high that no one is willing to carry out a terrorist attack. I am talking about killing in mass numbers, salting their fields and burying their dead with pigs. The terrorist planners must blanche in horror when they imagine raising arms against American citizens. If we truly want to ensure that terrorism ends, we must be ruthless and terrible in our retribution.

Easier said than done? Of course. But it can be done if we have the will to endure the consequences.

We should act swiftly on this, but most importantly, we need to know WITH 100% CERTIANTY who is responsible.

If W knows one thing, it's how to effectively eliminate people...

DaWolf 09-11-2001 10:31 AM

I don't know why we've dealt with Arafat for so long (although I thought I heard earlier he had condemned this attack, maybe i heard wrong). Dude is always on one side trying to talk peace, but on the other side not lifting a damn finger to stop the dumbasses who call themselves "Hamas." He's a coward...

Phobia 09-11-2001 10:32 AM

KCJohnny,

I removed your post with the idea that you might not be thinking clearly with all the excitement. If you are certain that none of what you disclosed required any clearance, feel free to repost it and I'll leave it alone.
