Heh, that's something I don't really get myself. If you're dirt poor and miserable, why the hell would you have children when they're going to grow up dirt poor and miserable as well. Doesn't make any damn sense at all.

Most of the world's piss poor countries are the same. Been that way since the dawn of time when we got out of cave living and probably before then. They are poor. They have no access to birth control. I've spent some time with some really poor people. Talked to them about their lifes etc.

What can they do besides bonk? It's just a natural thing. You can't keep humans from bonking just because they are poor. And when you are using the pull out method for birth control...wellllll mistakes happen.

No one can blame someone for helping an injured kid, it is an instinct most normal people would have. I know several people who have and do go to Haiti for relief work, like building water treatment in rural areas. Glad they weren't there this past week.


that said, the last thing I'd want to do is touch very many random bloody people in Haiti, their HIV rate is through the roof.
