You should pull the trigger.

I'm going to go ahead and book my room today - someone's going to get a great deal because I have a free night with Hotels.com.

I'm looking into getting a room there. I'm just trying to find some place that's equal distance between Arrowhead and the airport.

From Ameristar, you're closer to Arrowhead than the airport, but it's no sweat making the trek to the airport from there. You actually have a couple of different routes you can take and be there in the 20-25 minute range.....

That's not terrible. Go ahead and do it, your kids can go to state schools. :D (Unless of course you wipe us all out in apoker tourney)

I live literally 5 minutes from Ameristar. Flopnuts, OTWP, Pest, Buck, maybe Adam, who knows who else...... Holy Christ, this could get ugly. :)

Yeah, I ****ed up by not booking a month ago when rooms were $89 for Sunday and Monday.

Now it's like $130 per.

They are charging $250 for Friday and Saturday.

The Franchise 07-21-2010 11:05 AM

Oh....and the $240 for the two nights is through Hotels.com if anyone wants to know. If you try and book through the actual Ameristar website.....it's going to cost you over $300 for the two nights.

How'd you get a free night with Hotels.com?

I'm going to go ahead and book mine right now.

Yeah, it's bullshit, but that's their money nights. It's worse for the one in St. Louis - we checked for a weekend, and according to the wife, it was 200+ a night. Hopefully, she got her facts messed up somehow with that figure. Still, sounds like you snagged an OK to decent deal....

The Franchise 07-21-2010 11:12 AM

Well....my hotel is booked for the 12th-14th. I got the two nights for $239.00.

Check. I might just order them right now. The hotel rooms are going to cost me $240 for the two nights. Not bad considering it's in the middle of where I want to be....and it's a Casino.

Ameristar is probably the best casino KC has to offer, really. Argosy is super nice, but smallish (and I have NEVER walked out of that place with winnings. Nev-uh), Harrah's is OK, but smaller than Argosy, and Isle of Capri is, well, I couldn't tell you, other than really small. Plus as mentioned, Ameristar makes their own beers that I for one really dig. And, that's not mentioning the assorted restaurants they have. Nothing super fancy, but good. I do recommend the steakhouse (whose name escapes me at the moment). You will enjoy it.

Oh, and there is an Arthur Bryants there for your BBQ fix, if you so desire....

How are the rooms? They didn't really have a whole lot of pictures to look at.

And I'm not really a gambling type of person. I'll throw a little bit of money down but I'm not a huge gambler.

They're nice. That's one area Argosy destroys Ameristar - their rooms are fantastic. But Ameristar's are just fine - stocked fridge, big shower, big TV, comfortable beds....

And I'm with you when it comes to the gambling. I'm a blackjack and a craps guy, and a fledgling n00b when it comes to poker. I'll throw a little change down, but I'm not going to watch the next three months worth of mortgage go bye bye. We can drink beers and heckle Flopnuts and Warpath as they get wiped out by some 19 year old chick on the tables. :D

Welcome Rewards account.

For every 10 nights booked, you get one free up to $125.

90% of our personal travel and the wife's business travel is booked through Hotels.com.

It's been 3 years since I've stayed there, but they were pretty nice.

Plasma TV's, comfortable beds, clean, relatively quiet.

Bowser 07-21-2010 11:28 AM

And Pest, there is an 18 screen theater there if you want to catch a movie, but if you do that, Flopnuts, Warpath, and I will drink beers and heckle YOU. :D
