and Boss...
I was just starting to gain respect for you and now you think KC is going to go into Indy and win? Wow... I just...wow...can't fathom that level of homerism. That's KnowMo esque. |
seriously...
comparing a 2007 Herm led Chiefs game @ Indy to a 2010 Chiefs game @ Indy is one of the dumbest comparisons I've ever heard. |

the false hope our fan base has for this game is going to result in a meltdown on this site of epic proportions...

I may have been the only realist on the board that predicted us to go 10-6 in our season prediction thread...after predicting 4-12 last year and only missing the previous year by one game while predicting 3-13 (albeit on another board cause I wasn't here quite yet).
I think we beat Indy, but lose the following week to Houston. Thats how I see it, I think we match up quite well and have a real good chance at beating them with Romeo getting two weeks to prepare for PM and Charlie getting two weeks to plan how to attack them in a way that lets us succeed. I think When they sell out to stop our running game, Moeaki and DMC win their matchups and Cassel does enough not to lose the game for us.....which will open up the running game and allow us to keep their defense honest. Ill be pissed if you dont choose my sig or avatar if you do win, though. That would be a slap in the face. |
alright we'll see...I'm cheering for you to win more than you can imagine.
|
And to clarify...I predicted 8-8 if Cassel doesnt show up and 10-6 if he improves at a reasonable level throughout the year under Weis. Not great, just reasonable.
Look at the schedule, looks like I nailed that one...so far, anyway. Plenty of time for that to blow up in my face, I guess. |

The problem is that even great running teams need to put the ball in the air at times, and when the Giants did go to the air, they couldn't keep Mathis and Freeny off of Eli Manning. The Donkeys decided that they were going to shoot it out against the Colts, cause you know, Josh McDumbass is a McGenious(cps). I don't think the Colts can stop the Chiefs from running the ball effectively, but like I said, even great running teams have to pass occassionally. The questions then becomes, can Albert and Richardson contain Freeney and Mathis, and if so, can Cassel and the receivers make enough plays to move the chains? I don't think the Chiefs win this game, but I think it will be a much better, and closer, game than I thought it would be before the season started. |

Is Peyton Manning a great QB? Yes he is. But the fact is, the NFL has adjusted and tweaked the rules so much in just the last 12 years that it has made defending a great QB so much more difficult than it was before. The numbers that guys like Johnny Unitas, John Hadl (most underrarted QB ever), Dan Marino, Warren Moon, etc..etc.. would be ridiculous, and they would be every bit as indefensible as Manning is now. It is no coincidense that even average QBs are putting up stupid numbers. |

2 points.
1) Could any of you actually contain the jizz if the Chiefs beat the Colts? I couldn't. Nor could most of the experts, I suspect. And knowing that they'll almost certainly make the playoffs just a month into the season is an unthinkable feeling. 2) 0.5% chance to run for 200 yards is a HORRIBLE number. First, the Colts had more than that dropped on them by Arian "just off the practice squad" Foster. Second, the Chiefs just ran for more than that on a FAR, FAR superior run defense. They're AVERGAGING something like 160ypg. Bottom line, if there's any game this year where you'd pick the Chiefs to do that, it's this game. Charles for 120 and Jones for 80 is NOT out of the question. The Colts are no match for KC's running game whatsoever. They'd have to get a BIG (21+ points) lead for KC not to do much running the ball. |
