and Boss...

I was just starting to gain respect for you and now you think KC is going to go into Indy and win?

Wow...

I just...wow...can't fathom that level of homerism.

That's KnowMo esque.

Hootie 10-01-2010 12:37 AM

seriously...

comparing a 2007 Herm led Chiefs game @ Indy to a 2010 Chiefs game @ Indy is one of the dumbest comparisons I've ever heard.

but hey...

and when I win I probably won't even tough your sig or avatar...because I don't care...but you're trying to act like I never "stand by my claims" which is total bullshit.

How are they not similar?

what do you mean by "tough your sig or avatar"?

Do me a favor, rep this post (neg or pos, I dont care...neg may be easier to find) so I can find it easily find it after the game, will ya?

should be fun.

It's pretty easy to stop talking about a rookie TE...

Peyton Manning is brought up more on this Chiefs board than Tony Moeaki...

I'm not going to stop talking about Peyton Manning...that is just setting me up for something that isn't going to happen.

use the search function to see that Ipost about Moeaki (well before the draft) about as much as you post about PM...I think its a wash.

I think Indy hasnt changed much since then, while we have improved across the board at about every facet of the game since then is my point. I wasn't trying to say anything more. That should have been easy to grasp...

Hootie 10-01-2010 12:45 AM

the false hope our fan base has for this game is going to result in a meltdown on this site of epic proportions...

BossChief 10-01-2010 12:48 AM

I may have been the only realist on the board that predicted us to go 10-6 in our season prediction thread...after predicting 4-12 last year and only missing the previous year by one game while predicting 3-13 (albeit on another board cause I wasn't here quite yet).

I think we beat Indy, but lose the following week to Houston.

Thats how I see it, I think we match up quite well and have a real good chance at beating them with Romeo getting two weeks to prepare for PM and Charlie getting two weeks to plan how to attack them in a way that lets us succeed. I think When they sell out to stop our running game, Moeaki and DMC win their matchups and Cassel does enough not to lose the game for us.....which will open up the running game and allow us to keep their defense honest.

Ill be pissed if you dont choose my sig or avatar if you do win, though. That would be a slap in the face.

Hootie 10-01-2010 12:50 AM

alright we'll see...I'm cheering for you to win more than you can imagine.

BossChief 10-01-2010 12:54 AM

And to clarify...I predicted 8-8 if Cassel doesnt show up and 10-6 if he improves at a reasonable level throughout the year under Weis. Not great, just reasonable.

Look at the schedule, looks like I nailed that one...so far, anyway. Plenty of time for that to blow up in my face, I guess.

I think we got a good chance of winning. We are playing good football rain or nice weather. The only thing that may hold us back, of course is Cassel. That & not sure how much Peytons going to pick on Carr cuz he would be foolish to throw to Flowers much. Our team is still capable of winning this game. This is not homerism, I have my doupts as well but we have the play makers and the right play calling system on both sides of the ball (dicapline on defense). This is not a shoe win for the Colts. Houston showed that the Colts are not indestructable.

You are fighting the good fighting proving that we have no chance!! Keep it up champ. Damn these fools and their optimism. Why can't they see that Indy is unstoppable? THe homers !!!!!

Absolutely. I'm interested in any bet regarding this game.

I read a keys to the game article...

Here are the keys to a Chiefs win:

50% 3rd down conversions...

Win the turnover battle.

Win the T.O.P.

Matt Cassel has to have TWO touchdown passes...and complete 65% of his passes.

If we win, it will be behind the passing game...because the Colts are smart enough to not let us run on them.

Guys...

You keep saying..."Arian" who?!? WELL NO SHIT!

The Colts were prepped to stop MATT SCHAUB AND ANDRE JOHNSON...and as referenced now several times...they have played well against the run the last two weeks now...

To think we're just going to run all over them because we have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL is ludicrous...

We've all watched the games...what has been so impressive about the Chiefs ground game? TJ gets us consistent positive yards and puts us in 3rd and manageable every time...well we never manage to pick it up!

Jamaal has had one long ass TD run, one great 3rd down run, and then a bunch of garbage yards right before halftime in a few games...

and then we had the 4th quarter against a dejected 49ers team that we whooped up on!

I love our ground attack...but it isn't going to win us games this year by itself...no way, no how...Matt Cassel and Charlie Weis are going to have to win us games with creative playcalls like we did against San Fran...

If we can do that a few times against Indy, convert our 3rd downs, and get TWO lucky bounces...we might pull off a miracle.

yes...

A MIRACLE

The Giants ran the ball 20 times for 120 yards against the Colts, a 4.8 YPC average.

The problem is that even great running teams need to put the ball in the air at times, and when the Giants did go to the air, they couldn't keep Mathis and Freeny off of Eli Manning.

The Donkeys decided that they were going to shoot it out against the Colts, cause you know, Josh McDumbass is a McGenious(cps).

I don't think the Colts can stop the Chiefs from running the ball effectively, but like I said, even great running teams have to pass occassionally.

The questions then becomes, can Albert and Richardson contain Freeney and Mathis, and if so, can Cassel and the receivers make enough plays to move the chains?

I don't think the Chiefs win this game, but I think it will be a much better, and closer, game than I thought it would be before the season started.

He's absolutely amazing and the things he does are unbelievable...

And this is a QB driven league...and other than that rough stretch they had (before rattling off like 9 straight) in 2008 (when Lucas Field opened up)...they don't lose at home.

and yet suddenly people are giving us a 60% shot of victory?!

What?

WHAT?

The problem with this statement is that you aren't old enough to have a true perspective on things.

Is Peyton Manning a great QB?

Yes he is.

But the fact is, the NFL has adjusted and tweaked the rules so much in just the last 12 years that it has made defending a great QB so much more difficult than it was before.

The numbers that guys like Johnny Unitas, John Hadl (most underrarted QB ever), Dan Marino, Warren Moon, etc..etc.. would be ridiculous, and they would be every bit as indefensible as Manning is now.

It is no coincidense that even average QBs are putting up stupid numbers.

2 points.

1) Could any of you actually contain the jizz if the Chiefs beat the Colts? I couldn't. Nor could most of the experts, I suspect. And knowing that they'll almost certainly make the playoffs just a month into the season is an unthinkable feeling.

2) 0.5% chance to run for 200 yards is a HORRIBLE number. First, the Colts had more than that dropped on them by Arian "just off the practice squad" Foster. Second, the Chiefs just ran for more than that on a FAR, FAR superior run defense. They're AVERGAGING something like 160ypg. Bottom line, if there's any game this year where you'd pick the Chiefs to do that, it's this game. Charles for 120 and Jones for 80 is NOT out of the question. The Colts are no match for KC's running game whatsoever. They'd have to get a BIG (21+ points) lead for KC not to do much running the ball.
