I would agree, except that the girl has cerebral palsy and all she was doing was downloading some music.

25 strikes with a belt for that? Doesn't seem excessive? Punishment fit the crime?

She was pirating, plain and simple. 25 strikes was generous on the part of her father. /firemeboy

Uhhh, I don't. First of all, I didn't post this as a "thrill" I was very passionate about the fact that I thought this was a profound and horrible act of physical abuse and felt it should be shared.

Second of all, my LAST thread was to bring awareness to the Planet about men's cancer. Particularly, prostate cancer. But nobody cared about that. I posted how I am growing a moustache to help bring awareness to prostate cancer and men's health, but it failed to generate ANY interest at all. Nobody gave a hoot about that.

Does he say "stay down bitch" in the video?

Titty Meat 11-02-2011 08:52 PM

Atleast it wasn't a hot wheels track.

Lumpy 11-02-2011 09:21 PM

I couldn't bring myself to watch the video, but the story alone makes me !! Why morons are allowed to breed is beyond me!!!

Oh man, been there. Curtain rod too.
Gear Head Wrenching buddy said his mom used to get a willow switch from the tree in the back yard and leave a couple of leaves at the end so it'd whistle as she swung it.

SenselessChiefsFan 11-03-2011 06:23 AM

In no way, am I justifying any of this. However, this doesn't show the build up to the event. At the end, the mother says, "Now, I will leave you alone." That hints to a massive amount of disrespect leading up to this.

It wasn't just about the downloaded music. That, in and of itself, probably wouldn't have led to this. It was a deeper issue with disrespect and disobedience.

I have no issue with spanking children. Personally, I don't use a belt. I use my hand. Even the belt wasn't what bothered me the most about this video. It is how this guy talked to his daughter.

I used to think I had an anger problem. Heck, I did have an anger problem. I feel horrible about the way that I treated my oldest daughter at times. And, I never, NEVER, even came close to this. The worst thing that I can think of was pushing my daughter up against a wall for being disrespectful to her mother. And, I still feel awful about that.

This was brutally painful.

Pushead2 11-03-2011 07:11 AM

I wish I could beat this man to death

Iowanian 11-03-2011 08:04 AM

I watched an interview with this lady and her mother this morning. She sure doesn't act or appear to be suffering any severe malady.

The mother was trying to make it about her, made several insinuations about the man, but to me they both came off as having ulterior motive.

the dad is probably an asshole, but he insinuated she had been stealing and there was more to the reason he whipped her.

I haven't watched the entire video, but the part I did see wasn't as horrifying as I expected based on comments. Whippings are supposed to hurt. They're supposed to hurt so you learn to not do what you've done wrong to need the whacks.

Its a good thing they didn't have cell phone video's when I was a kid.
I got it a helluva lot worse then that.

:hmmm: The dad said yesterday that this incident happened years ago. And it was mentioned somewhere that the mom finally left the abusive relationship months ago. Is the mom bringing this out now as an opening barrage in a divorce battle?

And yes, the guy clearly deserves whatever public humiliation and legal repercussions come his way. I'm just saying it's possible that the mom is just as despicable if she's known about this video and has released it on YouTube just to get a leg up in a divorce battle (instead of going to the police or CPS if she was so concerned about the abuse).
