This - Peyton Manning not being willing to even visit with arguably the most talented team wishing to court him - this is the moment we realize that the front office is the problem.
Why wouldn't he want to play here? The roster is fine. It's the coaching staff upwards that don't look attractive to a QB. Are we surprised that Peyton Manning doesn't want to play for a head coach that washed out of cleveland and an offensive coordinator that washed out of Miami, and GM that fired an offensive coordinator during camp and spent all last year undermining his head coach? Why would we be? You can see Manning visiting KC and Denver and then deciding that Denver was a better fit for him. That wouldn't raise eyebrows. What raises eyebrows is that there is something about this team from the coaching staff up that makes a quality free agent dismiss Kansas City out of hand. That is a huge problem. |

That's why the call-in shows are STILL talking about Manning days after we've been reportedly eliminated, right? |

There's one SURE way to eliminate that response and make sure it never appears again. Guess what that is? Oh yeah, WIN A PLAYOFF GAME. |

But yeah, the front office here is a mess. |
Talks pretty much fell through when Pioli insisted on bugging Manning's cell phone.
