Player friendly coaches always fall apart.

This team is ****ed for 3 years, at the very least.

NO. If you still have Cassel as your starter with Brady Q backing him up you're failing

Shaid 03-18-2012 08:27 AM

We need a QB but you can't discount the improvement in the roster the past few years. We're slowly building a pretty strong team. Also, I'm pretty sure Pioli knows Cassel isn't getting it done and this is his put up or shut up year. If he doesn't perform and Pioli sticks with him again, I'm done with him.

Are you pretty sure of that? Because last time I checked, he dumped Kyle Orton even though he was cheaper than Cassel. He promised us competition, instead he went hard after a backup. There was never any talk of being interested in Matt Flynn. Never any talk of the Chiefs being interested in RGIII. There was talk of interest in Henne, but never any mention of him considering a visit wit the Chiefs.

Let's be real here. The Chiefs seem to think that the only thing that would take the job away from Matt Cassel is a player as good as Peyton Manning.

This is why I hate hate hate the Romeo hire.

Scott Pioli is building the New England Patriots and he's doing it admirably. Somewhere, he became convinced that the Patriots could be the Patriots without Brady or Bellichick.

A++ all the way.

There's really nothing that he could've done better.

The Patriots have NEVER had the talent we have.

lol wut?

Orton is more expensive than Casell in 2012? And Casell contract is up in 2013 and Orton is up in 2017. :hmmm:

Wished he woulda waited to see how the Alex Smith issue goes down and not be so trigger happy on Brady Quitter. BUT I do like that he saw the holes at the RB spot and OT spot and filled them with quality/elite players. I'm gonna say he is going on the right track. But what I don't understand is having 3 qbs when we only activate 2 a game two of them are below average and one who hasn't gotten a chance to play yet. I do have to say that I am excited(bad or good) to see how Matt Cassel/Stanzi/Quinn play and I do hope all them, depening who starts, plays very well.

They should have signed Orton and cut Cassel.
In a year where they had tons of cap space, they chose to go cheap on an inferior, older CB. Stanford Routt has probably 3 years left in his legs. Routt will be 29 in July. Carr will be 26 in May. And Carr didn't even break the bank. He was paid a reasonable contract.
And the fact that the Chiefs whiffed on the Peyton Manning sweepstakes despite being interested, yes, that's a very big problem.
They completely whiffed on Paul Solilai. So we STILL don't have a Nose Tackle.

I can't believe how much excitement there is over the Chiefs upgrading with a backup RB and a Right Tackle. Those are two definite Super Bowl positions for sure.

The Chiefs get a C purely on the QB situation. They get a D when you factor everything else.

loochy 03-18-2012 09:23 AM

Why isn't there a "kinda" vote?

I'm mostly good with him except for the giant WTF situation that is QB. I also hate his stupid secret CIA dumbassery and I think he was the instigator in the Haley situation.

Youre a troll. GTFO

L.A. Chieffan 03-18-2012 09:29 AM

Carr getting 10 million as opposed to Routt getting 6? I guarantee Routt will put up better numbers than Carr. Manning is a bust. Solilai resigned with his own team and to be honest hes pretty overrated. Wipe out the sand

I don't know how anyone can say Pioli/Hunt are not doing a good job. They have steadily made this team better, with the exception of the first draft which was not very good. But you have to give them a pass because they got a very late start.

1. Drafts have been good (not great).
2. FA have been very, very good. Quality players without way over paying and killing the cap sitaution.
3. Coaches, an error was made with Haley, but again it was a late start to the process. And they did not hang on for 3,4,5 years hoping things got better. They recognized Haley did not have the right personality and moved on. They have not been shy about bringing in quality coaches and I think Romeo was the right guy for the job given the situaiton.
4. By far the biggest critisim is the QB situation. Assuming they do not give Cassel a free pass this season, I don't see how you can really complain about it either. Name one QB they have passed on in the draft you can say was a huge error; 2009 Shanchez looks to be nothing more than an average QB at best; 2010 everyone was begging for Clasen which turned out to be a very good pass on the Chiefs part. There is not any QB you can look at today and say they should have taken. Stafford and Bradford where #1 picks the Chiefs were never going be able to trade up for.

What about FA? Again I don't see a single FA QB you can point to and say the Chiefs should have went and got. The fact is franchise QB are very, very hard to find. Reaching for one you don't think is going to be that kind of guy (and history says he won't) only sets back the franchise. You are much better off building a great roster and then finding the diamond in the rough.....a Big Ben or Tom Brady.

Pioli may be arrogant just like King Carl, but he knows how to build a football team. And for all of the complaints about Clark being a tight ass I totally disagree. Yes, he probably does look for value in contracts, but I don't think that is a bad thing. You must manage the cap in the NFL or you just waste your draft picks when you have to let them walk away. Clark has spent money on some big name coaches and he is spending some on some great FA.

All of you critics need to come forward and confess you were wrong. Give a little love for the roster Pioli/Hunt are building, and most of all quit the complaining about absolutely every thing that happens.

Direckshun 03-18-2012 10:32 AM

Drafts have been very good? Not great?

Pioli has been a Top 5 drafter since arriving in Kansas City. And that's including the 2009 draft.
