What do YOU think of Cassel's comments? Don't you think he should have been more humble? Or if he wasn't going to be humble, say something more touchy feely teamy like, "We believe as a team that we can do anything with enough hard work blah blah". What he said was not only undeserving and infuriating, but so goddamn underwhelming from a fan's perspective. It's like he had an interview coach prepping him for the kinds of things he should say and talk about, and he did the exact opposite of the advice he was given.

ya this is def the work of the pr machine at 1 arrowhead. i think this bothers me more than his assertion being able to run with the peyton's of the world. that was over the top laughable. I agree with SNR, it feels like "shut the **** up" all over again (matt cassel antics after boos filled arrowhead) but 2012 style now.

See there is no "pressure" on Cassel. In his mind he is ROFL "elite" ROFL it's the team effort that counts. What a joke this has become.

In the 2009 season he tries to play hero only to throw the ball and hit the upright fieldgoal bar.

2010 he did nicely to hand off to Jamaal Charles for lead rushing attack #1 with 31st rank in passing.

2011 we get to see a QB throw an INT on a screen pass.

This is our "elite" QB hand picked by our GM Scott Pioli. The pressure is on Pioli to make a change or GTFO.

I think he handled it pretty well.....I mean basically the interviewer was saying "Look at the AFC west, theres 3 good QBs---Rivers, Peyton, & Palmer.....where do you see yourself?"

Cassel's answer really isn't that shocking, it is to be expected he said he FEELS like he is right there with those guys......

All you have to do is read between the lines.....there is a huge gap between palmer and manning in his prime......I fully expected that answer......I expected him to say that he feels he can compete with those 3 guys. He DID mention the team, very nearly the first thing out of his mouth...so I dont know if you even listened to what he said....

The fact that so many people are so ****ing stupid they expect him to say anything different shows you how reeruned people are......Seriously listen to the interview again....it really isn't a shocker.

It's still funny and absurd to hear it and I would expect that from him as he "grades out perfectly". I'm not blaming Cassel saying anything he can say what he want's bfd however he is a tool a Pioli tool. This falls on Pioli the egg yoke is on him when Matt Cassel fails, but the reality of it is it's the Chiefs fans that suffer having to watch a ship sink in the harbour.

Absolutely 100%.......You can't blame Cassel for saying he feels like he can compete with these guys......none of them are in their prime......Palmer & Manning are one shaun smith oil check from retirement...Whats he going to say "yah Im ALMOST as good as Palmer 2012....and one day i might be "

Its dudes last chance probably, he has to say that shit...

And 100% where the blame will go on this too....not necessarily for pulling the trigger on cassel/vrabel as it was a decent try for just a scond rounder...but for sticking with it too long....should this season prove to be a failure.

BUT if this season proves to be a success then logically the credit will go to him as well, and he will look pretty smart.

I had the assumption at the time we got Cassel that he was a "quick fix" at the QB untill we get a few drafts in and start drafting QBs to replace him when the time comes. It's just dragging on now and Pioli is stuck on Cassel for having a 11&5 season with the pats and a 10-6 record with the Chiefs to make believe (fairy tail) that he has something with Cassel. Pioli made a colossal mistake at hireing Todd Haley & the embarassment that came from that with Tyler Palco. Pioli needs to recognize when it is time to move on and not let Clark Hunt make that decission for him like he did with making him fire Todd Haley.

If and when Cassel plays like shit the fans will let Pioli know our displessure and Clark Hunt will be forced to drop the ban hammer on him. That is the situation Pioli set himself up for.
