I blame my dad for me being a Chiefs fan. The brainwashing started before I could even walk.

I briefly paid a visit to Hell.... it was hot, but tolerable. Satan and I struck a deal... I was free to roam the earth, although I had to root for the Chiefs.

I shouldn't have taken that deal.

Father son/Family bond kinda thing....I don't follow the Chiefs with same passion after my father and Lamar's passing but do miss those Sunday phone calls and trips to arrowhead.

In 1970 as a 7 year old, I started watching sports on TV. That year I picked all the teams I would follow for the rest of my life.

The Chiefs from the Super Bowl, the Pittsburgh Pirates from the World Series, the Chicago Blackhawks from hockey playoffs, and the Washington Bullets (now Wizards) from the NBA playoffs.

I think I chose them by uniforms.

I have suffered immensely watching these teams over the years...:banghead:

I went to see the Pirates this year in Pittsburgh for the first time in 49 years of life and it was exciting.

I want to do the same with the Chiefs and visit Arrowhead this year for the first time.

Well I was born in NY and still live here, that said I was born a Yankee fan and my father had N.Y Giant wallpaper in his man cave.
As I hit lets say Jr. high I was surrounded by fans of the NY Mets and the NY Jets and for good measure throw in the Bills.
Having my own brain and really getting irrated by all the NY football teams I asked myself if its possible or even right to switch teams something I still think on but any rate...
One of the major networks or one of the then 13 tv channels had the Chiefs vs the Giants..the Chiefs were victorious.
A few weeks later I saw them again beat the Raiders.
I quickly looked up any info I could find on the history of the Chiefs and told myself I'm rooting for this underdog team..someday they'll win a SB turn this thing around and I can walk proud among all the NY fans here.
Ummmm 30 yrs later I'm still waiting.
Thru the yrs theres been many ups and downs I dont need to tell any of you that.
My father couldnt understand my liking two teams.
I really didnt like two teams anymore only the Chiefs at 14 I asked for a Chiefs jacket for Xmas..dad surprised me by actually getting it for me.
I had a huge smile on my face and so did he..the deal was done I was out of the closet. :)

I've enjoyed hating the Donks and Faiders and in the old days enjoying the 2 wins a yr from the Seahags.
Most of the Marty yrs you just had to find out the score later in the day sunday if you were busy.. not worried about if we won just how close the games were. Marty Ball, Chiefs 13 Raiders 9.

DT thru Marty ball thru Montana, Marcus Allen the Xfactor thru Priest.
Surviving the QBs...wow what a list.. the only good ones we had were Montana and Trent.

The list of coaches that were supposed to turn this thing around finally.
#1 defense 32nd offense
#1 offense 32nd defense.
I mean really wtf is left to survive til we make it to the Ship?!

Someone already posted a DT video so I'll add one from the past.

I don't remember a time when I wasn't a Chiefs fan. Born and raised in KC, dad and I watched every Sunday still do but now down here in sunny SW FL. During high school I worked for a local rancher that had a suite at Arrowhead, the second largest suite to the Hunts. 70's to now I have been able to attend any game I wanted to and I've had plenty of long walks through the parking lot afterwards yet I have been a fan with NO regrets.

There are plenty of years that we weren't competitive but there were some that we were. Never had a bad day tailgating hanging with fellow Chiefs fans / friends.

Note to Trolls, if you would've brought your troll shtick to our home at lot E on any of those Sundays you’d get no BBQ, no beer, no bloody Mary’s, just recognition for being what you are not: A fan of the Chiefs!

I grew up in Idaho, and believe it or not my dad and older brother were Raider fans. When I was 10 I watched the Raiders vs. Chiefs and became enthralled by Otis Taylor and the red uniforms. Never looked back.

During the Christmas day disaster vs. Miami in 1971 my brother taunted me right before it happened saying that Stenerud would miss the easy field goal to win it. Of course he did. After the Chiefs lost I wouldn't talk to him for a week. We've been cursed ever since.

my dad got drafted by the chiefs in the mid 70s so when i was a little kid i had all this authentic chiefs gear which was awesome. also the fact that my dad was my hero as most kids, i thought it was awesome he played in the NFL and i wanted to be just like him, so i was a KC fan for life.

im in bears country so people have talked shit to me about it my entire life, but fuck bears fans!

My Dad was good friends with former Chiefs punter Jerrel Wilson. They jointly owned a vacation cabin on grand lake. Jerrel taught me to punt when I was 5. Ed Podolak would join them sometimes but I was too young to really remember. Anyway punting wasn't my natural calling.

Born and raised in Olathe. Enough said. My great uncle used to have season tickets in section 110 behind the end zone and he would take me to games all the time when I was a young kid. He would always park in some lot in Independence or somewhere and then we'd take the bus to the stadium. Good times.

When I was a little kid....I grew up liking the 49ers because of Joe Montana. I was more a fan of Montana than the 49ers though. When he got traded.....I moved teams with him to the Chiefs.....been a fan ever since.

Exact same story as mine.
