Perhaps it's because he doesn't want full control? He's had success throughout his career as a talent recognition specialist, so it wouldn't surprise me if he'd jump at the chance to continue doing that with the title and pay of GM. Just a hunch.

oaky, they are good friends but this is business. Why would he not want to be the big dog? To be a good GM in the NFL you have to be a ambitious strong cold ass leader. why would that type of person choose to be second fiddle to anyone?

The fact that Reid has the control he now does, he may give certain GMs more power depending on who they are... If Pioli was still here...Reid would probably give no control to him. If Dorsey comes here, why couldn't Reid give up some of his control to Dorsey so he can focus on other aspects.

Reid has control...he can do what he wants with it.

The fact he's turned down past opportunities (to even interview) in places where he'd likely be given full control shows that the full control thing isn't his M.O.

He's spent his entire career working for Green Bay, save for one season when he worked for Holmgren in Seattle.

Going to a place like KC, to work with his close friend, Reid and someone he's familiar with professionally should be attractive to him.

I would think it would be a home run hire. Would love for him to be in the draft room for the Chiefs.

maybe he will be the big dog at his next job and will be happy at this stop just getting some experience (but he's getting that already with a Super Bowl contender) and working with this friend?

Just seems a stretch. Maybe its the Chiefs fan in me, nothing works out for us.:rolleyes:
