Can you hook up 3 TV's to increase your view on a console? Oh that's right, you can't.

Do I ****ing give a shit? Nope....I don't.

The only way I've ever seen this done for consoles is if you have another console and disc. Most games that aren't Forza are designed to only fit one screen

The Franchise 11-23-2013 10:36 PM

Go ahead and let me know how much it would cost to do that.

New World Order 11-23-2013 11:07 PM

This is getting too heated. We all need to take a step back.

New World Order 11-23-2013 11:29 PM

Now I do wish I could do this with a console:

3 monitors is not a lot of money.

This one is pretty cool too:

Maybe some day they'll make it as a DLC you can buy for the Playstation? :p

No one said you had to buy a TV when you buy a console.

I said that, SAYING that, is just like saying you have to go and buy a monitor if you decide to build a PC. Cause you don't, you use the thing you already have, just like you actually would with a console.

Going back to lugging the console around and being an eyesore in the middle of the living room. You know you have to put a console somewhere right? Put your similarly sized PC there.. same difference~

I want you console guys to keep in mind, what you are buying when you buy a console is you are buying a PC with a set of fixed hardware, with a fixed, proprietary, operating system.

Thats it.

Compared to buying a PC, which is the same thing, except with every option you can dream of. Kind of like unlocking advanced mode.

The only thing you will miss is madden, and if 2k gets to make a football game, you can play it on your PC, with your favorite console controller. BTW 2k14 not being next gen means nothing really, since it was released before the next gen consoles. Next year, it will be the current version, just like it was when it launched 2 months ago.

Dunno what to tell you about L4D, there is a reason it sucks :P

L4Dead is a PC game, works flawlessly. Never had a crash.

I'll agree that pc is better for rpg, but nothing more.

Umm, you do realize playing a game without proper drivers or a company releasing a game that is still having problems is not the computers fault?

This also now happens to consoles.

PC are better for everythign but sports.

Great article in its entirety.

Dig far enough under all the news about the tussles over mandatory Kinects and indie support for either the Xbox One and the PS4, and you'll find a shocking bit of info: PC gaming is at its best since the 1990s. Were it John Lennon, PC gaming would be making haughty claims about how it's "bigger than Mario" and scoffing at the petty squabbles of its box-bound competitors. And with good reason. Provided you're not wild about jumping into exclusives like Forza 5 or Infamous: Second Son, it's looking more and more like you won't be left too far behind if you decide to skip the upcoming console generation altogether.

Equipped with a decent grasp of Google, it's possible for even the most technologically challenged gaming enthusiast to maintain the rig on his or her own. Couple that with the fact that the PC (and related devices like smartphones and tablets) has taken over the role television once played in our lives, and it seems only natural that so many would gravitate toward interacting with work and play through the same device. The console as we know it, in other words, has become somewhat redundant.

et aside the blessed convenience of being able to access almost any game you want at any time, digital distribution services also tend to trump out their retail and console cousins by price alone. It's usually even enough to justify the purchase of new hardware since the savings you receive from the sales still result in smaller expenditures than you'd witness with boxed console games

Last month's Humble Bundle offered by EA via its Origin service, for instance, allowed downloads of the hits Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Medal of Honor and Mirror’s Edge in one package for as little as five bucks, with the whole project bringing in more than $10.5 million for charity from 2.1 million bundles.

"We're struggling to find a name for what used to be called porting, because there's not really a problem with that anymore." (In fact, several developers showed demos of their Xbox One and PS4 games on the PC at E3 rather than on the devices themselves.) It's so easy, in fact, that some of the next generation titles may actually come to the PC first as a result, and so this happy arrangement begs the question: why get a console at all?

Why? because the consoles are PC's.
