I've had a Citizen Eco-Drive for 9-10 years now. No issues whatsoever, other than replacing the leather band a couple of times.

I have to jump in here to refute/defend the Citizen brand from Saul "homefield is only worth 1/2 a point in the nfl" Good. I have 3 Eco Drives and have owned them for 10+ years. They are a quality product and are always on time and never need a battery (massive convenience). There are a billion styles and price ranges to choose from and there is usually a very good reason why a company dominates sales in the modern marketplace...quality. I have never had an issue with scratching and wear them daily, not sure why Phobia's out there swinging hammers with dress watches on and bitching but I'll let him explain that one.

As for the OP, I like #2 by far the best as it has a more simple and clean look. However, I will admit a strong bias against Chronos they are too busy for my tastes. They seem to be the adult version of the digital calculator watch we had as kids. I would also consider that you would be purchasing at the top of Citizen's price range, might want to up your brand a bit and get a cheaper/used model of a more glitzy brand.

Every one.

Just having a watch is ridiculously redundant...

not everyone has a cell phone, car, tv, computer handy 24/7. For instance on some jobsites we are not allowed to carry cellphones. I need to know what time it is.

The watches I've had are more of a sport, diving watch. None of the 3 were even damaged on a job site. One was obviously abused. It was left on the hood of a car and run over in my driveway. The other had the crown pop out with me walking around my house. The last just died. No particular reason. Wasn't battery or anything else. Factory authorized Citizen service center wanted more to repair than it cost new so I bailed on it.
