How are the streets in Johnson county ks? I am suppose to go to a Xmas party tonight...

I'd say, 2 1/2 hr would usually mean x2 of that, which would be 5 hours, if you want to err on the safe side.

But if all your driving is on the interstate, it shouldn't be too bad, but it depends on where you live. If you're from say, Salina area, it shouldn't be too bad, until you reach Topeka onward to KC area.

I'm near the KCI airport, and it's not sleeting too bad here, just a little layer of ice, but nothing to be freaking out. But in the Jackson/Wyandotte/Johnson counties, they're getting some ice more than Platte County.

Just now saw the radar, it is freezing rain/mix from Manhattan to KC. And it is starting to be on and off sleeting here in the KCI area.

Are they gettin slick....? It's an extended family Xmas party, so it's one I should show up to if the roads aren't THAT bad. I'm leaving around 4 if I go...

TWC is saying 6" to 10" now for the KC area. Radar shows snow all the way back to Dodge City and moving northeast.

I least you can drive on snow. Too cold for ice.

Nothing but ice this way. Ugh, powers going out in places and it's not even dark yet.

The great news is that I have to work 16 hours tomorrow and the person who was watching my son lost their power so they had to skip town.

Yeah, Pittsburg is right in the ice zone, with another band moving in soon. Tulsa got slammed earlier.

Pittsburg is a great town, by the way. Frontenac is really nice too. I heard the Paluka's store was up for sale - do you know if it ever sold?

I could go for about 100 degrees about right now. I hate cold and snow. :cuss:

So do they go easier on the no backpack policy when it's cold and nasty?

Wow that sucks..I have to work tomorrow as well..hoping they clear this shit by then.

I don't know for sure. I was in there this summer but I heard something about the old man dying here recently so I don't know what's going on with it. I live on the south part by the college so I rarely venture into frontenac though.
