Our lack of playoff success over the past 23 years has little to do with Tony Gonzalez. Don't be ridiculous.

dude needs to stop looking in the mirror and start looking the ball into his freaking hands.

cost us 10 points yesterday which would kill us in any playoff game. Dropped a super easy catch at what the 15 yard line on 3rd down, so we try a FG from way further out than would/should have been the case and then we miss it. Now, we may even score a td on that drive if he catchs that ball.

Then on the very next drive, he's blocking in the back while our rb is streaking down the sidelines for a td?

He could be all world but to defend his play this year is beyond homer boner. Dude has dropped too many balls, fumbled too much and to many penalties to be a top 5 te!

Still a luxury position. The offensive guys you have to pay are QBs (obviously), WRs and tackles and I'd say center. Prioritize the last three categories as you wish.

Defensive guys you pay to keep around are pass rushers, corners, and interior DL or LBs depending on alignment in that order.

Those positions are certainly weighted more heavily but you draft who you want and make the determination as to what they're worth when the time comes.

We don't have any tackles worth a hefty contract, nor do we have any receivers commanding top dollar besides Maclin.

We do have a TE now who, depending on how much he's asking for, could be worth a nice-sized contract in a year or two.

ThaVirus 12-14-2015 02:31 PM

You shouldn't underrate the TE position so much anyway. A great all around TE can be invaluable to an offense.

Is there any more valuable non-QB offensive player than Gronk? Maybe Adrian Peterson.

I'd take Greg Olsen, Tyler Eifert or Travis Kelce over a lot of 3rd tier WRs.

Probably didn't want to re-sign Houston either.

Probably one of the Alex cling-ons. They think Kelce is making their boo look bad.

I'm not sure what you're basing that on.

You're insane if you value WR over TE. Seriously. WRs are the ultimate shiny hood ornament.

I think (like with most teams) it depends on what you believe in and what you have on your roster.

you sure about that. . did you watch the Giants game tonight?. .

People been Chiefs fans so long they think wide receiver is an obsolete position. . haha

TigeRRUppeRRcut 12-15-2015 02:56 AM

He catches 3/4 of his targets and has amazing YAC. Blocking effort is awesome. He either cleans up his mistakes or he moves his contract down to lower end tier 1 level. It's that simple.

He is a New England fan.

ThaVirus 12-15-2015 10:41 AM

Contracts tell you everything you need to know about the value of certain positions. WR>TE.

Of course a New England fan would argue for the merits of having a TE over a WR..

Good question for Asterix: would you take 2015 Gronk or 2005 Randy Moss?

OctoberFart 12-15-2015 10:42 AM

Who is the idiot that says he is like Gronk? The only thing that is like Gronk is the position he plays, uni number and skin color.
