And that's great. And I'm sure he's a nice kid. And I can understand why you'd get emotional reading this thread because it's personal to you.

But the rest of us are just being objective. And he objectively is not a good player right now and has been a HUGE liability for the Chiefs. Maybe you're right and he'll go on to be an All Pro CB, but there is not a talent evaluator on planet earth aside from yourself that thinks he looks like someone who will eventually be elite.

Right now he sucks.

I don't know that I've ever seen a player that has been as consistently and comically inept as Gaines.

Stop reading this thread if you don't want your feelings hurt. If he plays another down this year, it's only gonna get worse.

A good test would be when we cut him if any other team would touch him with a ten foot pole.

Im over trashing Gaines.

At this point i just feel bad for him. Maybe he shouldn't be playing in a largely man coverage scheme.

This is beyond that.

This person is someone like his mom, his aunt, brother in law, etc.

Gaines needs a hobby, non-football related.

Can you even blame Gaines anymore? Its been so apparent for so long what his talent level is. Blame the ****wit who keeps putting him on the field.

We need to put Mitchell back on the field. He'll get beat and draw a flag from time to time but he is absolutely a better option than Gaines.

It should be Peters at LCB, Mitchell at RCB, and Nelson in the slot with Acker first off the bench. Gaines can play garbage time snaps and special teams.

Or the asshole that thinks he can cover 1v1 with no safety over the top.....I get that Sutton likes to keep it simple and let players play, but the NFL has figured his shit out...to the point where they're literally lobin' jump balls when the Chiefs are caught in certain coverages.

It's pretty apparent that every team in the NFL knows to throw it up for grabs when you get a 1v1 with any Chiefs DB not named Peters.

Nelson has proven at this point that he's not durable. Good player, can't stay healthy.

Houston is good but not great. He doesn't take over games anymore.

Parker has been almost invisible this season. He doesn't LOOK like he's lost a step to me, but he hasn't been an impact player.

Hali is done.

Ford looks like another Jerry Attouchu....a broke dick with fantastic athleticism.

Bailey is maxed out. He only stands to get worse. He never made that "leap" and has been largely the same guy for the last 3 seasons.

Logan seems aight enough, but not a difference maker, much like Bailey.

Johnson sadly looks like he lost 5 steps.

I love me some Dirty Dan, but he's just a role player.

We need Mahomes to really pan out, because this defense won't be top 10 for awhile.

I really hope the coaches are mulling over taking DJ's starting role.

This team just has a much better, and faster, feel with Ragland and KPL at ILB.

Maybe this just isn't the right scheme for Gaines. I'm sure he's a great guy and all, but he's getting wrecked out there.

No one wants to see that.

Like i said, im over bashing the guy. At this point i just hope he can go somewhere and excel, maybe a scheme that doesn't expose their corners as often as the Chiefs do.

Idk....those guys haven't really impressed me yet either.
