Have we heard from other Chiefs players yet?

Silence.

The only leverage he had was to not show up until he got a deal that paid him $20+ mil a year. Which I could see him doing. Maybe he already told the Chiefs that’s what awaited them which they’d have to disclose and could be the reason we’re getting a 2nd and a 4th for him.

Still a dumb trade.

Call his bluff then. He'd be destroying his own career. Shop him now, and when they only had two shitty offers, tell Peters "Sorry we tried, now get back to work. We'll try again after next season." You really think Peters would hold out after little to no interest from other teams?

Why? Peters has no leverage here. The Chiefs don't have to do anything. Peters is under contract.

Oddly, yours may actually be the stupidest comment in this thread.

Yeah, sure, let's just ignore the fact that the guy was booted from his college team, played out of control last season, fought with his mom, called her a **** and quit on the team.

All perfectly acceptable behavior.

And thanks for the response as to why many, many other teams that could have used his services, that could possibly put the team over the top and in the Super Bowl, passed.

Butt****.

I don't even know how to vote.

I'd prefer he be a decent human being that would mature with age. I seriously enjoyed watching him on the field. I didn't mind seeing his frustration. i get that. But I'm a fan, I have no clue what he's like to work with.

Would I have liked to get more compensation? Sure. Of course. Its really a punch in the gut to go from thinking we are going to have Peters, Fuller, and Berry in the backfield to Fuller, Berry and bunch of question marks.

Still I'll say this. For years we have bitched and moaned about being a team that is too set in its ways. Playing things way too conservatiely. Now we have GM in Veach who is very agressive. Making moves early and often. Some huge victories (Smith) others dampen your spirits (Peters). Still I think if we really want to see this team in the Super Bowl you have to get young and stay focused. I think Peters was a focus issue. Think about it, you are trying to build a super bowl contenders in year 2 or 3 of the Mahomes era. But yeah that pro-bowl ball hawking 25 year old CB should be part of path there but you can't trust him. Can't trust him to keep his head on straight, can't trust him to even be an option for the team when you are ready to compete.

In short I get it, I just don't like it.

What? The guy clearly hasn't changed since his college days so why give him a 4th year to change his behavior?

I’ll post this in the Peters thread to and I came up with this today. Mahomes needs to be the new leader in this locker room and maybe this was part of it. Move Peters so he can influence nor challenge him. Mahomes needs to be the alpha

No this is actually detrimental to Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes II because at camp it's competition and that's how they get better so Tyreek won't be challenged near as much in practice. That's going bite us.

I don't ****ing care as long as he's hauling in INTs and shutting down half the field. It's a football team, not an ethics committee.

They still will have to go at Kendall Fuller and whomever we bring in FA (Amerson and maybe a guy like Fuller) plus the draft

Of course you don't care because you don't have to micromanage him 365 days a year.

This is the same kind of attitude I get from a lot of my friends. They'd sign ISIS members if it meant a Super Bowl.

That's just silly.

BlackHelicopters 02-26-2018 02:50 PM

F- is too generous.

notorious 02-26-2018 02:51 PM

Only thing worse is cutting him. That why I graded D.

It's hardly unreasonable to expect the team to manage a star player with a bad attitude when he's posting up NFL leading stats 3 years running. It's part of their job. You don't build a winning NFL team full of all nice guys.

notorious 02-26-2018 02:57 PM

This is so bad it hurts. It’s probably going to be a LATE 2nd pick at that......

Mecca 02-26-2018 02:58 PM

This is my view, I waited so long for this team to draft a QB I have to stick this out but if this was still Alex Smith I doubt I'd even watch next season.
