I think there's a strong possibility now that some of these 1-year deals are really bridge contracts, eventually leading to long-term contracts once the cap goes goes up and some of the higher cost contracts go away. Hitchens for example might be traded or cut after next year. Anyway, my point is that this season might be just "sign these guys to 1-year deals for now, and get them signed to a longer deal in 2021" type of thing.
One thing to remember is that Veach saw how things were going to fall out cap-wise BEFORE he made the deals with Clark and Mathieu and so on, and probably had some kind of plan to deal with it coming into this season. |

To throw another comp out there Kenneth Murray is a lot like Demario Davis, who is a really good player, it's why him making it to 32 is a pipe dream in my view.

Assuming we don't murder-for-hire somebody ... How many pick-things will it take? FAX |

yeah I don't think it changes our needs so much as it allows flexibility per round. LB, IOL are now the two most dire spots, and CB is still right in there. |

Not worth it. I’d rather have Jones and the picks. If Simmons busts, it would go down as one of the worst trades ever. |

I love Simmons talent, I love his versatility and I love that he grew up down the street but it's not feasable. |

Unbelievable. I didn't expect him to get one year. Thought he would undoubtedly get a 2 or 3 year deal being that he's been on a one-year deal for the last couple of years if I recall.
