Thank you for that non-stupid, non-knee jerk post.

On a unrelated note, Kelce had the most receiving yards ever by a TE in the super bowl

But the bitter whining by some CPers just might. There's morons here that are so deluded they think that somehow STs cost us the game. Or that it's the coaching staff's fault that we only signed 10 OLs to the team. Or that Andy trying to get our offense the ball back at the end of the first half somehow lost the game.

Probably the same dumbasses that bemoaned Andy not being aggressive enough a few weeks ago. Probably the same dipshits that never want to see Patrick execute another QB sneak because of a freak accident.

Petty little wretches deserve this loss more than anyone. Just wish they weren't fair-weather fans of the Chiefs, tbh. Let 'em go whine for the Raiders or the Jets. At least they'd have good reason to piss and moan.

Wait, you think calling a timeout when they had 3rd and 2 on their 40 with 40 seconds left was a good idea?

I think he was trying to get the ball back for the office with the hope that we could book and a couple of scores between the end of the 1s half and the beginning of the 2nd. You know, try to grab some Momentum.

I think he was rolling the dice, to try and get the team back in the game. Yeah, it was pretty aggressive. And the armchair quarterbacks can now second-guess that decision to their hearts content. With the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.

But in that moment, when he called the Time out, I was all for it. I wanted the opportunity for our offense to get the ball back; because I knew that all we needed was a little break here or a little break there and Patrick could lead them to a score, even with just a few seconds left on the clock.

Because we’ve watched them do it more than a few times over the past three years. Or have All you whiners forgotten that?

It was a high risk/high reward kind of call. Kind of like a Wasp, or the 48 Rose Bowl play. Unfortunately this one didn’t work out.

But since Patrick became the starter, most of these calls have worked out in our favor. And I’ll be absolutely honest, I would rather Andy roll the dice, then the turtle up the way he did sometimes with Alex Smith at the helm.

It’s antithetical to take the conservative way out, when you have the weapons this team has combined with the most talented quarterback the world has ever seen. The whole point of this team is going for it; putting pressure on the other team all the time.

But that also means sometimes you’re not always going to be successful.

I can live with that. Apparently some of you don’t have the balls for it.

Fortunately for Patrick, Reid really does have the balls to make those kinds of calls. And I’ll bet a month’s salary that that will end up translating into more Super Bowl rings then calling it conservative over the next 10 years.

Eh I usually purge myself of all things Chiefs and NFL until the draft no matter what each year so it’ll be no different this year...just stings more.

No it was dumb as shit. Best case scenario is that we get the ball back with 30 seconds left and 1 timeout. That was the absolute best case scenario. We were hoping Brady who I think at that point had like 80% completion to have an incomplete pass or for Fournette to not be able to get 2 yards. Given that the offense as at that point was amazingly terrible and couldn't protect Mahomes to save their life, there was no upside to it. There was no hope of even getting to field goal position with the way our offense was playing.

You can check the game thread. This isn't a case of hindsight being 20/20. People in the moment knew that was a stupid decision. There's a difference between being aggressive and being stupid. That was stupid.

In hindsight, it was dumb. But it wasn't blanket dumb. It was dumb because the team wasn't ready to perform explosively that day.

A regularly running 2020 Chiefs team, you call that, get the stop and salvage some last minute points. Or even if you give up the couple yards for the first, you stop them for a couple more plays outside FG range same as if you hadn't called the TO at all.

But this team was off and hampered. They shit the bed on the first stop, then the refs reamed them, then they did again.

You don't play a SB game with our weapons expecting back to back ridiculous PIs to be the consequence of a gamble. Playing to close out the half with our tail between our legs would have sent the message that you have no faith in the team and just want the day over with.

I didn't mind the first time out. But after the Bucs gained 8 yards on 2nd down and they seemed content to let the clock run down, ****ing let them. Like I said, after that 8 yard gain, the best case scenario was us getting the ball back with 30 seconds left. Now what? You're going to get Pat killed some more before the half trying to run deep plays to hopefully get in field goal position? There was just no upside to that second timeout at all.

The side bets are going to kill me
I have to continue to grow my no- trim beard.
It's a year old now and I look like I should star in the Dukes of Hazard remake.

I have to wear this in public once a week. I don't think people on AZ will notice.

I did make out on all my bets on post season bets.

So no, It's all good 'till next year.

I have to try to grow my beard to 5.6" as I can't trim my beard again this year. It's about half that now.

DTVietnam 02-09-2021 06:09 AM

yeah...it did for me..

last offseason I watched all the Micd ups, Inside NFLs, re-watched all the games, re-watched the Super bowl like a million times. . . all year long. . up until the season. .

this offseason...ill prob watch the mic'd up once just to see what the **** actually happened. . but then i wont be thinking or watching any chiefs stuff until august (except the draft)

that's the depressing part

Dunerdr 02-09-2021 07:35 AM

No, it sucks catching crap from co-workers as if anyone in the building is more critical of a dog shit performance than i am. But with all the impending free agents, a ****ed up cap, and this defeat, im hopeful takes the next step where he gets Peyton and Bradyesque and just takes over practice and meetings lining guys out. A step towards perfection you could say. Right now theres so many bullshit mental mistakes i dont believe that theyre working for that level of detail.

Maybe I’ll get over it and get excited when we start making moves, but right now I have absolutely no interest in keeping up with everything in the offseason.

Outside of the penalties, the Super Bowl was just an embarrassment. I haven't watched any post game stuff because I don't really want to hear 2013 Andy Reid speak.

Andy Reid did not have the team ready to compete, and he was thoroughly out coached. The two timeouts before the half were ridiculous, and his offensive game plan, and lack of adjustments made me believe that his mind was still in Kansas City with Brit.

Losing sucks, but if we had been competitive, and played anywhere close to our ability, I would not be as upset as I am right now. We didn't look like we belonged on the same field as Tampa Bay. Winning Super Bowl 54 is still sustaining me, because I wasn't sure if I would ever see my team win another Super Bowl, but the way we lost, and the lack of effort by everyone not named Mahomes, has turned me off of football until probably day 1 of the draft.

Watched the game again. Guys it wouldn’t have mattered if Fisher was out there. I hate saying that but it’s true.

They wanted it way more than we did.

Nah, if Mahomes isn't facing jailbreak blitz levels of pressure every other play while they're rushing 4 with 7 in coverage things go differently.
