Bowser being a terrible mod aside, I haven't eaten food at a McDonald's in years, but occasionally I'll order just a small soda so I can have their Mello Yello.

I know about the McDonald's deal with Coke and everything, but I'm convinced the same deal applies to Mello Yello since they're owned by Coke. It just tastes better than bottled or canned or fountain from other restaurants.

I posted a thread about this awhile ago, but I'm quite disheartened so many places have switched to the 100s of flavors soda machines. If you can't tell the difference between those machines and regular fountain machines, I envy you, because I totally can. The aftertaste from those machines reminds me of flavored alka seltzer. Bad stuff.

Run clear water through them before you fill your cup. If the machine is properly maintained then that might help.

Back when Coke Zero was first released, my local gas station switched one of their fountain options to Coke Zero from Lipton Iced Tea.

I was in there shortly after, noticed the switch, and thought I'd give Coke Zero a try. Filled my cup, paid for it, and walked back to my truck. Sat down and took my first sip...it tasted like tea flavored Coke Zero. I'm saying, the tea flavor was strong...not just a hint of it.

I assume it was due to them not properly cleaning out the pipes and fountain pieces, but it immediately turned me off to Coke Zero.

Today I tried Mountain Dew Zero. Much like plain old diet Mountain Dew and The Franchise's taste in soft drinks, it is also vile!

I've drank perhaps 20% of a 20 ounce bottle. I think the rest is going down the drain.

Yuck. :Lin:

I have no problem with Coke Zero, Pepsi Zero or even Sprite Zero. I honestly don't understand why the Mountain Dew Zero is so gross to me. It just is.

OTOH, after adjusting to diet pop I can't drink regular Coke or Pepsi now because they taste like syrup. But I can still drink regular Mountain Dew. The only other non-diet pop I'll still drink is the occasional root beer.

Mountain Dew zero is one of the few diet drinks that's worth a damn. Dr Pepper Zero is also pretty good.

Must be nice. The mcdonalds in my area only have coke, diet coke, sprite and Dr pepper. They even got rid of the root beer they used to have.

I'm disappointed with these poll results. I'm just gonna have to assume most of the people that voted for Dew were involved in some sort of horrific incidents where there taste buds were burned off from hot soup or chili.

I stopped drinking diet Mt Dew after discovering Bang and Rockstar energy drinks.
