Surely it just means they tested positive themselves as opposed to being identified as close contacts of a positive case

I don't know if its applicable to this scenario but I thought I read the NFL could spot test random groups of players regardless of status. They just have to notify the team in advance.

Anyone else just numb to this? I don’t even get worked up about any players testing positive anymore. It’s just a part of the game right now.
