I love Iowa, and the tax climate is only getting better.

Pella is a nice town, but I'd its also a little cliquey. Living closer to Des Moines would be wise, but I'd be a little picky about where I'd land. The east side of Des Moines is a little lacking IMO, but places like Altoona and Pleasant Hill have some great neighborhoods.

I'd find a place in the country if its me. Something close to 163 would be perfect.

If it wasn’t quite a bit over the low six figures, I wouldn’t consider moving. The money is one of the major things making this a tough decision.

I got food poisoning from a Giordano's in Chicago once, and had to fly out of Midway at 6:30am the next morning. Worst business trip of my life.
