It would be shocking if Tyreek’s extension isn’t close to a $25 million per year average. This will probably be his last huge contract and the 1st time he is in the driver’s seat, he is not going to have to sign a discounted contract due to any off the field stuff this time.

more horseshit.

Yes, I think so…but nothing substantial because he already gave KC a massive discount last time. The key here is to get it done soon because ultimately, that’s the discount. Similar to Mahomes deal.

If it’s me, I give him a 3 year extension for 80m and get him locked up for the next 4 years and lower his cap significantly for this year.

You realize what a kick in the dick we'd take next year to lower his cap this season and pro-rate it over 3 years with the extension you're offering?

He has a $20 million cap figure this year so lets just assume you want to knock that down to $8 million. So you convert it (any number of ways) to kick $12 million of it down the road. Then you add in your 3 year/$80 million extension. So now you're looking at 3 years to fit $80 million in cap space in PLUS the $12 million you pushed off.

You want 3 seasons that AVERAGE a $31 million/season cap hit starting in 2023 when he's 29 yrs old?

That seems...unwise.

I don’t think that’s as big of a concern as most think, currently.

This salary cap is going to go NUTS over the next 3 years. WRs are already going to get deals this FA that approach 30m and Tyreek is as valuable as any non QB in football.

Also, when I say a “3 year extension” those deals are always written as 5 year deals and ripped up after 3, to keep cap space spread out better. As usual, I probably should have fully clarified before submitting the post. I usually sneak a few minutes here and there to post so I miss posting details at times.

If they're actually open to negotiate an extension now you get it done ASAP. If Davante Adams hits the open market the new #s for top WRs will be reset by literal millions AAV.

Adams isn’t hitting the open market though. At the very least he will be tagged.

In any other situation I'd say yes, you're right, but they're dealing with a precarious situation with Rodgers at the moment. Those two are tied close enough together that I could see Rodgers taking offense to the Packers not managing to secure Adams long term with an extension.

Curious if this is more reliable than the Bienemy/Mahomes rift.

Titty Meat 03-03-2022 08:13 PM

It doesn't make sense I'm pretty sure it's been known since last year when Hill refused to restructure his deal he wants to play out his contract to get top dollar

At least two, maybe three of you all think so.

Ecto-I 03-03-2022 09:09 PM

I have no issues with the contract or this thread for that matter. For heaven's sake, the thread title says "rumors" which implies that it's not guaranteed, just something circulating.

BossChief 03-03-2022 09:23 PM

All this is is a person with zero actual info connecting the dots with poor intellect and trying to get a scoop.

Veach said he would be talking with agents about deals at the combine during his presser.
We need to clear cap space in the next week or so to prepare for the opening of FA and to tag Brown
Tyreeks extension is the biggest way to clear space for this offseason quickly

The fact that Veach and Rosenhaus are negotiating a deal isn’t news.

It's from a guy with 69 followers. Clay only posted the shit because the person tagged him and Marty.

It's like some shitty humble brag

Relax, bro. Just passing along info.

This guy has had good intel in the past, labeled it as a rumor, there will be plenty of Tyreek rumors flying in the next week or two, we start it here.

As always, your choice to respond and be a fan. Namaste.
