The world will instantly improve once twitter is gone.

I think he really does believe he knows how to fix some of the issues with content moderation, and I believe him when he says that he's trying to drive conversation more toward the middle and away from the extremes. My skepticism is almost entirely driven by the fact that he's basically decided that there's no value in keeping anyone who has been working there before and understands how all of these complex systems were built. That seems pretty arrogant to me. https://media.giphy.com/media/Rh4vxH...ugXP/giphy.gif |
It looks like he's trying to kill it. Can he afford to let Twittle die?

SpaceX: Who else are you going to work for? ULA? Boeing? Lockheed? Sure, if you want to work for a dinosaur that never seems to get anything done. Tesla: Who else are you going to work for? GM? Ford? Toyota? Sure, if you want to work for somewhere that's literally just trying to catch up to Tesla from dragging their feet the past decade. Twitter: Who else are you going to work for? Apple? Microsoft? Google? One of the thousands of startups out there? Uh...yeah, that seems like a pretty obvious choice. |
Keep in mind that jack dorsey is also starting sky blue which will be an alternative to Twitter. You wonder if this was part of his plan to watch Twitter implode on its own. I’m actually somewhat rooting for Elon because without a doubt Twitter has become one sided in content moderation and I still think there’s something way bigger there with live streaming that they failed to achieve. Probably in large part due to Dorsey being a part time ceo. Maybe competition between the two would be a very good thing, although given that one could barely stay afloat I’m not sure that two will be any better.

I dont give a single **** about twitter, but i do get sad thinking about all the great people ive met on forums that are now dead. I'm still friends with some on facebook, but man theres a lot of knowledge gone from forums that are completely gone now.

And it's not an alternative to Twitter, it just a protocol that enables a user post a Tweet, Truth, Parley, etc across multiple platforms with one post instead of having to copy-and-paste it across multiple platforms. So someone could post a Truth on Truth Social have that same Truth also be posted as a Tweet and a Parley across those platforms. But other than being wrong about everything, great post! :thumb: |
