Right now RT is the biggest need and has the fewest options to fill in FA in my opinion. Maybe someone like Cameron Fleming. The talent in the draft is at DE imo so I'd love to add another 1st round Edge. But I think we'll go RT. Only way I see it not happening is if the Bengals take Wright and Veach thinks there's a big drop to the next guy, which there is. Then I reckon it's DE R1, trade up for a Bergeron type R2. Wouldn't hate it but it'd be a shame to lose the 3rd.

Omenihu's pressure rate demands starter status IMO, especially when he's big enough to be great against the run.
Kick him inside on passing downs and bring in Danna or a speed rusher to be named later. |
Guys - it's clearly going to be WR OBJ

Back to the Coiling to strike idea...
Trade strike; Could be Zadarius Smith. Veach was after him before, he wants out of Minny, Minny is cap strapped. This would NOT be a high draft pick, 4th or less. Savvy Vet still producing at a high level. Opens up our draft. DeAndre Hopkins, yeah hes not the 25 year old guy but he is a TOP WR with a few good years left at a reasonable salary for a guy of his caliber. Veach HAS been looking for WRs it just hasnt worked out YET. They chased JuJu for two years knowing they would only have him for one. They have looked at OBJ, AJ Brown... Veach is NOT stupid, we all know that, he isnt going to screw the team over, BUT if he can find the right deal he WILL do it. Some guy NO ONE is expecting, this would be Veach at his BEST. He seems to know what every teams situation is and could be trading for someone that isnt on anyones radar, this is the "Oh Shit" trade. |

When you look at the history, it's pretty clear that they've always been looking for a veteran top-tier WR, they just haven't found the one they really want. Yet. It's just a matter of time. |

No, it probably won't be a WR with the range and athletic talent of Jefferson, but how about any of the random WRs outside of the 1st round who blossomed into elite players in their own right in this era of the modern NFL? In a totally random order, just to name a few... Tyreek, Cooper Kupp, Michael Thomas, Terry McLaurin, DK Metcalf, Jordy Nelson, Amen-Ra St. Brown, Anquan Boldin, Josh Gordon (that one season in Cleveland, man...), Steve Smith Sr, Victor Cruz, and a whole bunch of other guys I'm forgetting about. And even then, JJ himself was a late 1st round pick. I know those guys don't exactly grow on trees, but if there is some elite guy like that who slips through the cracks, we've got just as good of a shot as everybody else to identify and scout him should he happen to slip into the back half of the first round. I get it. You just like the idea of Jefferson playing with Mahomes. That can still be a reality-- it will just have to be somebody like Jefferson instead of Jefferson himself, and we just gotta put in the legwork. |

They were speculating on SIRIUS today that we were going after Tunsil and letting Lawaan play RT. Lawaan said he would gladly play RT. Protecting our 500 million dollar man was priority
