As I posted yesterday, it still doesn't make sense... They could have had the Chargers, Raiders or Broncos, all better matchups to the average fan. No complaint from me though.

Detroit is the favorite to win the north, they have a high octane offense with a lot of young players that are ascending.

Detroit is a team the league going to be promoting this year, it's like people missed all that.

They upgraded at RB with Gibbs (who is more explosive than Swift) and Montgomery, and added a lot of good pieces to the defense.

I would predict the Chiefs handle them fairly well in Week 1 (something like a 34-24 win that is not as close as the score indicates) and they improve a lot over the course of the year.

The gambling suspension is going to have some key pieces out that first week (notably, Jameson Williams), and the new pieces at defense will still be rotating in (big upgrades in the back 7, which usually take some time to start clicking).

But I think the Lions team the Chiefs face and knock off in SB LVIII will be a much tougher team, and that one ends up being more like a 31-28 game.

Just glad it wasn’t the Bills. Those whiny losers would have been awful. It would have also taken any credit from banner night away and turned into a Damar Hamlin documentary in his first game back from near death.

Dodged a bullet on that one

Veach gonna realize how much damage Gibbs can do. We should have traded up to #11

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has declared that the recently announced home opener for the Kansas City Chiefs is an affront to Australian NFL football fans. An astonished Albanese said,“Detroit-fooking-Lions??!!?? Are you kidding me?”

In retaliation, the Prime Minister has designated that Roger Goodell is now persona non grata in Australia while Australian football fans will no longer be allowed to travel to the US for NFL games. Long time Australian thought leader and all-around awesome person “AussieChiefsFan” issued a statement today saying, “This will not stand. Goodell is a dead man.” In support of their Australian brothers & sisters, NFL fans from around the world will be holding an international “moment of booing” at 6 p.m. AEDT, Friday, May 12, 2023.

Yeah, he and Johnny Football would have been a killer combo.

Trade up to 11 for a RB? GTFO.

BryanBusby 05-11-2023 10:45 AM

Knew this was coming.

The Lions are a scrappy team with a vet QB and a mouthy Head Coach.

Nobody was tuning in to watch Denver suck dick.

Finally a Rodgers/Mahomes game.

1) Momentum doesn’t carry over from the following year.

2) They lost Jamison to a BS suspension.

3) Lions draft was terribad. Spend 1sts on a RB and LB and other miscues.

They’ll probably win the North, but only because the division is bad.

35-20 beatdown.

Lol, where did I say anything about 'momentum'? Is English a second language for you or something?

" Lions draft was terribad." Really? Because virtually the entire NFL world thinks otherwise. ESPN, SI, PFF, BleacherReport, The Sporting News, The Athletic, basically every notable professional football media outlet graded DET draft at least a B, up to an A. Let me help: the NFC is a run-heavy conference, and DET obviously felt the need to move on from Swift, so they drafted a likely replacement with their first pick. Then they drafted a MLB, because they were one of the worst defenses vs. the run (allowed 5.2+ yds/carry in 2022) IN A RUN-HEAVY CONFERENCE. Then they drafted a plug-and-play TE, because Goff and the offense had a huge need for a reliable receiver between the numbers, because that's where Goff lives. And so on. They even drafted a possible replacement for Goff. Hence the parade of Bs and As grades for DET's draft class. Make sense now?

I already said that DET would win the North, about 6 months ago.

And I already said that KC would roll over DET. That's what "feast" means.

Mecca 05-11-2023 11:03 AM

They're getting blasted for positional value basically, when you're first 3 picks are RB, MLB, TE some people get worked up about that.

I miss 1 o’clock games (12 o’clock for you midwestern ****s since I already know someone’s gonna say something!).
