Yeah, Chris demanded a $8 million raise this year. Veach said nope, we’re handing that cash to Mahomes.

Hopefully they can structure Mahomes’ deal to create new room for Jones in 2024, 2025, and perhaps 2026. Lamar Jackson has very low cap hits compared to his massive cash payouts from 2023 to 2025, so it CAN be done.

Does make you wonder how much knowing they were working on that deal affected the Jones negotiations.
