Chiefs players kept saying after the game that coaches kept coming up to them telling them about how OT works after practices and stuff to prepare them for this situation so they would be prepared and calm. Very well coached team.

Ratboy Jr.’s supposed “logic” that he wanted a second possession after both teams would have scored… is just wrong.

I'd have sworn that was on McKivitz. That looks for all the world like McKivitz was supposed to push Jones inside from the RT spot and leave that easy outside pitch/catch. On a quick play like that you're just not all that worried about edge pressure - you'd expect the TE can handle Karlaftis enough to give you the time you need. Then the RT pushes Jones into the interior where the RG can clean him up. I know Buford seemed to fall on the grenade there but that just does not look like that's how that protection is drawn up. |
Maybe the refs should announce the rules to the entire stadium at the start of OT. That would help right?

Since the 49rs kicked a FG I don't understand the issue.

As for deciding to take the ball, I get the Niners thinking but I would never willingly give Mahomes 4 downs to work with, which in essence is what they did by opting to get the ball first. |
