Renewed for season 10.

Which I'm glad because I like the show, although other than the musical 200th I haven't been feeling this season very much.

Season 11, actually.

I'm not feelin' this season so far. Not sure why.

ragedogg69 01-28-2015 02:04 PM

I enjoyed last night's episode. At first I was annoyed that they turned Charlie into a bad ass killer. The explanation was good enough. Why Felicia Day got such a bad hair cut is beyond me.

keg in kc 01-28-2015 03:19 PM

I liked it too. Felicia Day is such a weird looking girl.

ragedogg69 01-28-2015 04:19 PM

See what suck the most about her is she has made bank on that girl next door, nerd type chick. Then she went out and got that "I hate my dad" haircut and one guy on twitter said he wouldnt listen to her podcast anymore because of it, the feminists took the narrative as anything negative said about her is an attack on all women.

It's like you cant have an opinion of her anymore.

ragedogg69 05-21-2015 03:54 PM

Well this season sucked balls.

beach tribe 05-21-2015 04:05 PM

This season could really have been bad ass, but it got dragged down by the brother angst shit. If this show keeps going, they have GOT to cap that. Have the bros hug it out and get to kicking ass, or something.

I'm still in season 2 and am having trouble going back to the show because of this. If I wanted to watch women squabble there's plenty of daytime TV that fills the same void. Knowing that it is still going 8 seasons later makes me cringe thinking about starting back up.

There really are good individual episodes that are worth it throughout the series, but the squabbling never goes away. Sometimes it kind of works, but most of the time it just gets eye rollingly absurd. I bitch about it, but keep tuning in. For me, the secondary characters make this show ever bit as much as the Winchester brothers do.

At the very least follow the story arc that leads to the end of season 5 (that was the creator's arc--planned it to be a 5-season series). After that it lulls a bit, then picks back up, and then lulls again with this past season, imo.

unlurking 10-06-2015 03:37 PM

I will get back to it, just am behind on so many shows as it is. One episode of GoT left. Two seasons of Dexter left. Three seasons of Breaking Bad left. Ton of books and comic books I'm working on too. Just finished Preacher (awesome, going to be a tough transition to TV). If it weren't so CW it would probably be higher on my list of priorities. Love the soundtrack, and there have been some really good episodes and stories.

Ooohh, maybe they go after their "vessels" again, and this time it really happens?

keg in kc 10-10-2015 11:04 AM

I thought it was one of their better premieres from the last few years (everything leviathan and after was bad). The narrative structure was unusual for the show and I liked that the baby they saved was the darkness. Nice little twist. And adult darkness girl was...attractive.

Valiant 10-10-2015 04:29 PM

I guess i was just bored with the episode. I liked the twist at the end. But something was just missing for me.

Chieficus 10-10-2015 04:50 PM

To me it's well past old that one of the brothers always has to be infected with something or on the verge of death or trapped in hell, purgatory, whatever.

It's like Sam said to Dean: "When did we forget how to do this?" When did the writers forget how to do something new?

The show didn't become bad after Kripke completed his arc, but it lost some of its mojo. Thought it was gaining it back a few seasons ago, but imo last season it slipped again. I'm still holding out hope this season will get better, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bowser 10-11-2015 04:23 PM

The bitch fest between the brothers gets old, but it is a glue of the characters and show, for better or worse.

kepp 10-14-2015 07:48 AM

To me, the show has stayed alive because of the introduction of other "dimensions" every so often. "Hell" with Crowley, Alistair, Abadon, etc. "Heaven" with Castiel, Metatron, and the search for God. "Purgatory" (although my least favorite) with the Leviathan and Benny.

I think they're running out of dimensions...at least "known" dimensions that people identify with. It feels like they're trying to introduce another with the Darkness, but I'm not feeling it at this point. I find myself wanting some of the original "two brothers killing monsters" storylines.

ThaVirus 10-22-2015 02:25 PM

They put season 10 on Netflix recently and I just finished it.

Dean fighting the Mark of the Cain deal got pretty tiresome after a while. He was a badass as a demon, though. Also near the end when he fully gave into the Mark.

I'm interested in the next season with "the darkness" being freed, but they're really reaching at this point.

kepp 10-23-2015 09:02 AM

This season is losing me. They need to bring back some of the big players - Michael, Lucifer, Chuck Shurley (who may or may not be God according to some theories).

Bowser 11-01-2015 02:23 PM

This last episode, "Baby", was probably my favorite I've watched in some time. That episode made good viewing.

I was checking this thread out because I got into a few episodes of Supernatural and I was entertained. I have a lot of old shows to watch/catch up on so I wanted to read some of the feedback. But...

Dexter. I know you won't stop watching. It was really, really good up until the end of the fourth season. You will want to follow the characters and you probably don't believe that the show could get that bad that quickly. It does. It falls off a cliff. The writing turns to shit with poor dialogue and the integrity of the characters is destroyed with unbelievable, cliched actions. The plots have giant holes that will leave you shaking your head. The production value plummets to CBS Movie Of The Week quality. This giant shit-filled snowball just rolls on and on downhill until it builds into a massive Coyote versus Roadrunner finale that is somehow simultaneously devoid of impact and yet infuriating. If you think you would enjoy being dry humped by a large beagle for two hours then by all means watch the next two seasons and destroy any positive memories of this show that you still have.

keg in kc 11-05-2015 07:18 PM

Finally caught up on the new season (I'd only seen the premiere before today). I gotta say, I'm digging what they're doing. And the Impala episode was a classic.

My god she's a knockout. She's the kind of woman Eddie Murphy talked about back in the day that if you ever found yourself standing next to that you would feel uncomfortable and realize just how ****ing ugly you yourself were, lol.

And yes, I enjoyed that mid season finale. Nice little twist with Lou there, but it really didn't come as a shock. Very interested to see where they take this the rest of the season.

Rausch 12-14-2015 05:31 PM

They're really treading over old ground here.

I really like the actor that plays Lucifer but I couldn't give a $3it less about the same old "no, don't do that! I'll save you" BS of the last 5 years...

This episode was Metatron's redemption.

Yeah, with all the build up of the darkness, I thought the finale was a bit ho-hum. But, with Bobby...he is dead, so they wouldn't be thinking about him in the present as family still around.

keg in kc 06-04-2016 09:40 AM

Everybody else that's been family to them is dead...

Liked the end of the season but introducing the English men of letters was a little abrupt.

Bowser 06-04-2016 08:45 PM

Yeah, the finale was anticlimactic and a bit ho-hum, but it was ok. I did laugh at the British version of the Men of Letters getting involved and acting pissed now that the Winchesters have essentially saved literally everything in the universe.

This was probably one of the better seasons of the last 4 or 5. I'll stick around to see where they take this next season, but I'm starting to think that this show might be losing steam as it goes down the road from here (they have just defeated a force on par with god, what could possibly be next?).

I was kind of sad the Wayward Sisters spin-off-didn't happen.

I wonder if they'll take one last shot at building a spin-off after the two failed ones (the first try was a 'bloodlines' spinoff, ended up being one of the worst episodes of the entire series).

The way they've introduced these mammoth celestial beings up to and including God himself (and his sister!), I fully expect them both to die and then be anointed to some cosmic standing of some sort. Sam is the new Death and Dean takes over Hell but keeps it under wraps, or some such ascension.
