How close is Surprise, AZ to Glendale, AZ?
Would make a pretty good trip to see the Royals & the Tigers in the Sweet Sixteen in the same week. |

The Midwest is in shambles because of WF, WVU, and MSU. The only issue in the West is Washington... had FSU and then Texas just for the upset in the East... and had Western Kentucky going to the SS, which I almost got. The past two years of top-heaviness has been rough... I'm used to getting 12-14 of the SS. :doh!: |

I don't know where Surprise is, but Glendale is the west side of Phoenix. I don't know where the arena is at in Glendale, though. I assume it's in the same location as the new Cardinals football stadium that is also in Glendale. |

Man, I caught the last 5 seconds of the game. Crappy way for Marquette to go out really. Boneheaded error on them though.
Congrats on the win as well. |

I don't think either team will get there, but you never know! |

I believe I've called out Pete for being full of shit when whining about calls in every single game thread I've ever posted in. I rarely if ever get hung up in bitching about the officials.
However, that was absolutely, without question, the most poorly officiated game I have ever watched. The obvious disparities were alarming, really to the point of me questioning whether or not this was truly on the level. It got to the point where I stopped being angry about it and just kindof sat there dumbfounded (I believe I reached that point when we were called for a foul on a tie-up). Huge credit to Mizzou for beating Marquette and the zebras tonight. That was awful. |

I'm just really glad we pulled out a hard fought victory, hopefully they will use this experience against Memphis and play tons better too.

That game was exhausting. I'm ecstatic that we won, but the officials cheapened a lot of the experience of the game.

That would be ****ing insanity. I have both KU and MU losing in the Sweet Sixteen... so who knows. Today was an incredible couple of games for KU/MU fans. I was a HUGE fan of Marquette today... Good luck vs. Memphis, if you all beat them... you can think about a F4 or the 'ship... |
Okay, so which one of us went trolling in the KU thread?

Tip o' the cap to Kim English, kid reminds me more of Rickie Paulding every game. He'll be leading our tourney runs as a JR and Sr.
How Lyons put together the linescore he did is beyond me. He played like ass. He was horrid in every facet of the game. He made one nice little reverse layup (after being fouled roughly 213 times on the way to the hoop) and otherwise played ole' defense and made me curse his family. Same story with Lawrence, another awful game with a respectable line score. Carroll, on the other hand, had a mediocre line but a great game. Exhibit A when explaining to folks that the box-score doesn't tell the entire story. Finally, to the folks that were trying to give the refs a pass by saying Mizzou's defense was what was really hurting them, just exactly how did you expect them to man up? Every single time they bothered playing defense, they where whistled. There's no way for them to play pressure defense if all that's going to do is get Marquette to the line. They're not a help defense team that can deal with that by having guys come in late to clean up. From a purely technical standpoint, it was absolutely impossible for them to play defense with their system and how that game was called. Granted, dipshit things like failing to box out and really remarkably stupid fouls like the one Lyons pulled on the breakaway didn't do them any favors, but that happens; they're still college kids. Ultimately they were up shits creek with the system they run once the refs got whistle-happy. I can't hold that against 'em. Huge credit to these guys for keeping their heads up and plugging along when things were looking rough. P.S. **** you Buzz Williams. Die of ass cancer. |

Maybe someday y'all will actually have to beat someone in the tournament, I kinda doubt it. |

Now, if Kansas played like they did today... shooting 40% and 17 TOs... that's up Mizzou's alley, even though Aldrich's triple-double wouldn't have helped the Tigers. |

A smack fail that makes all previous epic failures irrelevant. This post should be stickied in the HoC. Wow. |

The same douchebags do this after every game, and then get defensive when they are called on it.

Frazod.....
Mike Anderson is an amazing coach, to take that team to the SS is awesome.... IF anything he wins one more game and he should have the court named after him. Mike Anderson > Norm Stewart... By a 100 miles, not even close... |

Do you believe it is possible that Anderson could begin to out-snag Self in terms of collecting the most sought after talent? Not necessarily immediately, but over a period of say, two to three years? I believe it's very possible. Back in August, no one here believed that MU would accomplish what they've accomplished, and yet here we are. Now you tell ME who Sporting News Coach of the Year should be. |

I love that you really don't even watch basketball, but these guys are making sure you're the one they try to talk to. |
SO............
What an awesome win by MU tonight! |
