Yeah, it seems that you are the only one in this thread posting about it who actually understands the rule.

dirk digler 09-14-2009 09:45 PM

There was no fumble since his arm was still underneath the ball

I will never understand this dumbass rule. If a RB runs gets tackled as he enters the endzone and the ground causes him to fumble it is just a fumble, recovery, TD. This is no different. Two feet down then the ground caused him to lose it but he regained control.

OnTheWarpath15 09-14-2009 09:46 PM

The rule was applied correctly.

However, that doesn't mean the rule isn't ****ing reeruned.

QuikSsurfer 09-14-2009 09:46 PM

Worst announcers evar

DeezNutz 09-14-2009 09:46 PM

That's why you don't draft QBs.

Nzoner 09-14-2009 09:46 PM

I swear if this game total stays under the vegas total by 4 points or less you have got to wonder how much of this crap is fixed.I hate the raiders but c'mon that was a td.

-King- 09-14-2009 09:46 PM

Richard Seymour! haha. And he was getting held.

doomy3 09-14-2009 09:47 PM

The officials made the correct call.

dj56dt58 09-14-2009 09:47 PM

the non TD was a blown call, the ball touched the ground but the receiver still had control

Because a catch requires control of the ball. A RB already has control once he gets the hand off. The rule changed last year.

I don't disagree with this.

thebrad84 09-14-2009 09:48 PM

Obviously it just one half of play, but the raiders front D looks pretty damn good...and their secondary is no turd either

Psyko Tek 09-14-2009 09:48 PM

seymor is a beast

banyon 09-14-2009 09:48 PM

Bolts played like s*** and they are tied. They should win this.

DeezNutz 09-14-2009 09:48 PM

So, we're in agreement that the refs ****ed up the call?

Tiger's Fan 09-14-2009 09:48 PM

Neither of these teams is impressing anybody.

Called it like the rule reads, he didnt control the ball once he hit the ground.

Yeah, I get what they are going for. It is a dumb rule. If you have control after two feet down you have control. He did.

-King- 09-14-2009 09:50 PM

Holy ****! Richard Seymour is on pace to have 64 sacks this season!! LMAO

doomy3 09-14-2009 09:50 PM

Is McFadden hurt? He didn't play at all after his fumble I don't think. I can't remember what came last-that fumble or Russell hanging him out to dry on the pass.

that's worth a first round draft pick

Mecca 09-14-2009 09:51 PM

If you catch a ball and 2 feet hit the ground the rest of the play shouldn't matter when your 2nd foot hits it should be a catch.

Apparently not

SD - 10

dirk digler 09-14-2009 09:54 PM

According to the NFL rules

Quote:

A forward pass is complete when a receiver clearly possesses the pass and touches the ground with both feet inbounds while in possession of the ball.
He did all of that because his arm was still underneath the ball when he hit the ground. Am I missing something?

Mecca 09-14-2009 09:55 PM

If you did what that WR did in the open field they'd call it a catch and down by contact so how is it not a TD?

That was just horrendous. I hate to see the refs blow a call like that one where it changes the game, and in this case, by 4 points. Even though it was a call against the Raiders, that just shows it can happen anywhere, like oh, next Sunday at Arrowhead? I don't want the refs making it up to Oakland next week!

Well, except for the clause that states unless it's a team owned by al "death" davis, in which case the refs can call whatever they please to keep his teams from ever winning anything ever again

Hammock Parties 09-14-2009 09:57 PM

Al is going to crap his depends if the Raiders keep this up.

Since last year, it is incomplete.

These rules are stupid.

Turnovers.... nuff said

Mecca 09-14-2009 10:01 PM

Why doesn't Oakland try a PA bomb for DHB?

Even if you don't hit it make them respect his speed.

-King- 09-14-2009 10:02 PM

Mike Mitchell proves his worth LMAO

dirk digler 09-14-2009 10:03 PM

Ok so the ball can't move at all or it is incomplete is that right?

thebrad84 09-14-2009 10:03 PM

That's another rule I don't like...if you have the ball and your knee hits the ground, you should be down with or without being touched by the defense.

-King- 09-14-2009 10:04 PM

This week was supposed to be the great Adrian Peterson vs. LaDainian Tomlinson battle.

Um yeah, not much of a competition there.

Mecca 09-14-2009 10:04 PM

The Raiders are going straight up man since Asomugha can own his guy and Chris Johnson steps up with a nice play.

Those dudes make me shake in my boots I tell you.

So what do we score 6 points throwing to those guys?

-King- 09-14-2009 10:07 PM

So how long do you have to have it on the ground for it to count as a possession?

dirk digler 09-14-2009 10:07 PM

Ok that definitely wasn't a catch. The ball was rolling on the ground. I was wrong

Mr. Flopnuts 09-14-2009 10:07 PM

Wow. Helluva catch.

Stinger 09-14-2009 10:07 PM

No. It should have been a catch. It was a bad overturn. The receiver went to the ground and had the ball. It was when he was getting up that the ball came free, but that's what they called the incomplete on.

Both officiating crews have sucked tonight. Teams may be struggling, but the officials are already in mid-season suckage form.

banyon 09-14-2009 10:10 PM

facemask and holding

-King- 09-14-2009 10:10 PM

I wonder if Asomghua gets bored playing. It's can't be that much fun not getting any balls thrown your way.

Stupid throw.

Hammock Parties 09-14-2009 10:12 PM

I'm kind of disappointed. I've really enjoyed the Raiders being a complete comedy of errors for a long time.

End of an era.

-King- 09-14-2009 10:12 PM

The CB had the pick before teh LB ran into him.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 09-14-2009 10:12 PM

What the hell was he thinking with that throw?

Threw it into triple coverage across his body.

SD dodged a bullet there

Mecca 09-14-2009 10:12 PM
