You've already made it clear that you have a hard-on for Jeff "6 winning seasons in 16 years" Fisher. When you continue to campaign for mediocrity like that, nobody cares what you think.

That is great and all but no interim head coach in the last 20+ years has ever won a SB and only 1 has been to the SB. The odds are good that Romeo will be mediocre or worse.

If you were to hire a coach based strictly on his W-L history you might as well go hire Cowher, and no one with half a brain here wants to hire that guy.

Shit, Tony Dungy's W-L is fantastic, you want to hire him? No? Then you should probably shut up.

I can see that it irritates you when I point out that Jeff Fisher has 6 winning seasons in 16 years of coaching.

At least with Romeo Crennel it can be argued that 4 seasons as a head coach with a shitty organization might not be a large enough sample size to draw any conclusions about his ability to consistently win as a head coach in a (presumably) better organization. You can't make that argument with Jeff Fisher. 16 seasons is a pretty big sample size. Sorry if that annoys you, but it's the truth.

petegz28 01-01-2012 11:21 PM

Jack Harry and Frank Boal say it will be Romeo\Cassel next year and that Fisher doesn't want the job here.

Probably the fact he hasn't already been named is a sign he's not getting the job.

If he gets named this week it is the opposite of standard protocol. I think they interview a few and then decide it's better to keep Romeo than start over on both sides of the ball AND a head coach. They/we will keep Romeo, my guess, but not announce until after the superbowl.

So we made an awful mistake because we had to wait so long to hire Todd Haley, but now we are going to repeat that mistake.

LMAO

FYI, I guarantee you they have already interviewed candidates who are not under contract with other NFL teams.

We'll have a new HC by the end of the week.

Those Chiefs players will almost certainly get their wish, and very soon, as general manager Scott Pioli is expected to make interim coach Romeo Crennel the permanent leader of a roster already dedicated to him.

Hearing Fisher's name tossed around w/a lot of jobs ... So worth repeating -- Going to a place w/an established QB is big priority for him.

Sadly this is true.

My usual preference is always that young and coming genius assistant (not named McDaniels). Kind of the next Sean Payton. Unfortunately, this year we do not hear of any such prospect. So i am resigned to keeping Romeo for a couple of years and hopefully promote our own young and coming assistant when Romeo retires.

10 of those hired BEFORE HALEY have been fired. Haley was not the worst choice. We did not get the worst of them by hiring late.

They couldn't hire Todd until after the SB.

What if Pioli is interested in someone on a SB team?

bevischief 01-02-2012 05:09 PM

Pioli is he here we are ****ed...

Frankie 01-02-2012 05:09 PM

Actually hiring Crennel makes a world of sense to Pioli. He stays with The Three and if Romeo does not pan out he will "retire" in a couple of years siting age and declining health, saving Pioli the embarrassment of having to fire a friend.

I am somewhat resigned to having Romeo as HC It'll probably be a short stint for one reason or another. I just dread the possibility of Josh McDouche following him as HC.

It doesn't matter what coach we bring in or what OC we bring in if we have a shitty qb. You consistenly beat good teams in the NFL with good qb play. Yeah you might occasionally beat one by playing great defense and running the football but not very often.

Especially in the playoffs. The Caleb Hanies and Matt Cassels of the world are shit that will beat other shit teams.

Until the Chiefs get a quarterback that can win games and not have to rely on other shit to happen, we are spinning our wheels.

THIS is totally off topic but I do not have the power to make a thread
If someone could make a thread to discuss a possible ChiefsPlanet youtube channel, I will be thankful. I can set up the channel, make a amazing background and display picture.
The channel can be used to post everything Chiefs by all CPers. Ofcourse me (because I made the channel) and all the other mods will be in charge of the channel. If a CPer wants a video posted. Send the video to a MOD and thus we can get it up.
ALSO, think of this. If we get atleast 3k subs, we could apply for a YT partnership. THUS we get paid for posting videos.
--If this ever happens, we could use the money to donate to the site and some local KC charities.
Haters gonna hate.

Chiefs scheduled to interview Packers OC Joe Philbin tonight, according to GB source. Chiefs already have had "several interviews" for HC.

Royal Fanatic 01-04-2012 08:21 AM

Not much info so far on the web about Philbin. Here is one story that tells a little bit about his background: http://www.thephinsider.com/2011/11/...es-joe-philbin

He does have a couple of advantages: (1) He doesn't come from the Patriots family, and (2) He's not Josh McDaniels.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-04-2012 08:23 AM

The one thing I DO like about Philbin is he isn't from the tree...I think. :hmmm:
