Will lewis the new director of Pro Scouting comes from Seattle. He knows these guys pretty well. hopefully they help
|
“He gets open,” Kaepernick said today. “He’s quick, he’s shifty, he knows how to read defenses and he finds the soft spot … He’s someone that’s easy to throw to. Most of the time he’s open and it’s by quite a bit. As a quarterback, that’s something you love.”
Chad Hall (5-8, 187) has had a strong opening to training camp. He joined the 49ers last year after catching 14 passes for 135 yards with the Eagles from 2010-11. This is good to hear! He is the one Kaepernick overthrew that was wide open against us. |
Wes Hodkiewicz @WesHod 8m
NFL sources confirm San Diego has claimed Terrell Manning and Kansas City was awarded Dezman Moses per @PeteDougherty Dezman Moses Dezman Mirrill Moses is an American football linebacker for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He played college football at Tulane after transferring from Iowa |
Matt Barrows @mattbarrows 1m
Kansas City claimed #49ers CB Marcus Cooper off of waivers. he's on the Chiefs 53-man squad. #49ersmidwest |
Moses started 6 games for the pack last year. Had 4 sacks
|
|
So where are we now with cuts and additions - pretty dizzying not used to this kind of action lol
|
Gotta say, seeing the team this active in the final cut waiver wire is a refreshing change.

the Pack9ersification of the Chiefs begins...

if Nico eventually wins they LILB job they can move Jordan to the weak side to back up DJ and have a backup for Nico in James-Michael Johnson
|
That's nice Depth at OLB too with Zombo and Moses.

Okay, so they really released Jalil Brown?
Wow, if so. The guy was aces on special teams and seemed adequate in a back up CB role. |

These guys are serious about us being a blitz heavy attacking D this year. |

All I remember of Jalil Brown was if the offense was desperate for a first down, throw at Brown. |

Big CB. If your gonna take a flier you got a decent shot at one of Shiano's Rutgers recruits |

AND Hall (WR), Howard (DT), Johnson (LB), Parker (CB), Cooper (CB), and Moses (LB) claimed off waivers One spot to fill |
Quote:
Nobody looks safe and it seems that they are being really aggressive in trying to get guys in here that fit the mold. I can't remember this much activity from a Chiefs front office on final cut day before. A whirlwind where Pioli and Peterson pretty much went on vacation after the final cuts. |
Powe and McDougald?
Madness! Jesus...really? These guys are going nuts. |

Quote:
Peterson would be in Scotland right now, and Pioli would be busy going over the tapes of last nights outgoing calls from Arrowhead. |

That's what I was going to say.
Since we get first shot at waived players, there's no reason why they shouldn't cherry pick and do everything possible to improve the roster. Nice job by Dorsey. |
Looks like we still need a TE, correct?
|
very strange to make this many moves. But they're in a position just like picking first overall they never hope to be in any time soon. They are taking full advantage. Most teams are scarred to make that many moves. Like it will disrupt comradarie. They don't care because they just got there and are starting fresh

Heh, I said something nice about McDougald, and thirty minutes later, the Chiefs cut him.
|
Do we have any other sources besides Beverly Twittertwat on some of these cuts?
The Chiefs website won't update until tomorrow most likely, but I'm wondering if we can at least get multiple people reporting the same stuff. This is all very confusing. Someone like... oh... Teicher would be a good start. But he's probably busy preparing for his next blog article- "Chiefs are no longer run by Scott Pioli". I imagine we'll hear from him next month on the subject of these cuts and new acquisitions. |
Baghdad Reid on the Chiefs Website is gonna have a busy day first day back to work on Tuesday. He gots lotsa xplainin' to do....
|
We got another 49ers castoff Marcus Cooper

I'm shocked and don't know why I didn't know that the Chiefs have right to any player over every team and there is no rotational order based on other players claimed.
Saw a retweet by an NFL analyst saying Chiefs and Jags cleaned up taking all the good guys and leaving scraps for the rest of the teams. |
Th beauty of the waiver wire.

Also, looks like the only source I see confirming Powe and McDougald is Arrowhead Pride. But they also said Wylie was cut. And it appears Nick Jacobs is going with it also. |

Did Powe really get cut?

Did Tyler Bray make the team?

Andy Reid drafted 125 players with Eagles. 6 of 30 from 1999-2002 became Pro Bowl players. Then four of 95 from 2003-2012.
