Sanders kind of looks to me like the guy who trained for something at the combine (speed) that cut his weight. He's going to fall a bit in stock as a result. If he can put that weight back on in a positive way, I think there's a real chance he outplays his draft slot. |

He tested so poorly but I think a lot of that has to do with being sick. I don't think he's a 230 lb player who ran a 4.67. I think he's a 260 lb player who felt like shit and would probably still run a 4.67 with that extra 30 lbs on him. His wingspan is adequate. And his 40 time was actually pretty good (as was his 10 yard split and shuttle times) for a DE - just not for a guy that weighs 230 lbs. Sanders putting up those numbers at 260 lbs is in the mix for late 2nd consideration. You're gambling that the weight loss was unintentional and easily resolved and getting him in the late 3rd. Meanwhile he's an active player with good hands and a solid motor. He has some projection in him as well and could develop into a real nice player in 2-3 years if he can get up nearer 275. I think he even has the frame to do it. It all comes down to what you think the cause for that 230 lb weigh in was. If you think he cut weight to get his 50 time from 4.9 down to 4.67, well you probably don't draft him at all because that's not an NFL player. But if you think he's a 'true' 4.7 guy at 260+ lbs, you're happy to get him here. I can buy the latter. |

The New Orleans Saints select Isaiah Likely, TE, Coastal Carolina
Sorry, everyone, for extracting every drop of value talent from this draft so far. |
The Cleveland Browns select Byran Cook, S, Cincinnati

Idk if we will get to the next round tonight or not but I might ne out celebrating so I won't be able to pick til tomorrow

Edgar Allen Poe steps to the podium, gaunt and gothic. He recites.

The New Orleans Saints select Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana

The San Francisco 49ers select JoJo Domann, LB, Nebraska

CP is doing their part to remove all LBs from the board before the Chiefs pick again.
|
The Kansas City Chiefs select Marcus Jones, CB, Houston

A 5'8" NB in the 3rd round? Put me down for meh.
|
Quote:
And he's talented. If he can step up and do the job, he's not a bad pick that late in the 3rd. |
My thinking is pushing Fenton and Sneed both to the outside. Bring in a quick NB. He is small but at least he is quick and fast. He can also return kicks and punts. One of it not the best in college last year.

Shit man, I like him for the Chiefs. He's long and athletic (and smart) enough to play T but physical and strong enough to play G and do it really well. So you have a guy that can potentially start at G for many teams immediately (including the Jets) but also represent a legitimate option as a swing T. His versatility would be hugely valuable for most teams - like something of a supercharged Wylie. And I was just watching him sliiiiiiiiiide on down. I almost took him at the top of the 3rd but couldn't pass on Woolen. I was definitely going to take him for the Bucs since they seem disinclined to retain anyone on their line. But here's the silly part of this game - I definitely did what I'm not supposed to do and thought "well hell, I like Walker for TB as well and maybe he'll slip back to me with the Jets if I let him go here..." Dumb. He should be a Buc. I tried to game the system and I just rarely do that. Sho 'nuff it blew up on me. He's going to be a solid football player for a very long time. |
Dang. The 4th round is all Ravens with a few other teams sprinkled in.
|
Now that's more like it.
That whole 'only getting to pick once in the top half of the round' we dealt with int he 3rd was really cramping the Jets GMs style. How am I supposed to turn this squad into a powerhouse with only 1 pick per round? That's just garbage. |
The San Francisco 49ers select D'Vonta Price, RB, Florida International
|
The Jacksonville Jaguars select Josh Paschal, EDGE, Kentucky
This is the guy I would’ve taken at 94 for the Chiefs. |

The Cleveland Browns select Zachary Carter, DT/EDGE, Florida

Can everyone agree to leave my backup pick on the board until I’m back up again at #118? o:-)

My hindsight Chiefs draft:
1. Andrew Booth Jr. 2. Nik Bonnito 3. Josh Paschal 3. WR who is still on the board |
Quote:
|
I wouldn’t love Bonnito in the 2nd, but we need some juice on the edge, and if you’re going to go BPA with Booth in the 1st, you have to take a swing here on his pass rush ability alone.
Getting Paschal in the 3rd makes me feel a lot better about that. I would’ve considered him at 62. Great compliment to Bonnito. |
Juju signing makes my draft even better
|
Johnny Unitas comes to the podium.
https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qim...a8095cd66cb-lq "A quarterback is at its best when he's got a secure pocket. And that's what the Colts will do with - wait, what? The Ravens? When did - never mind. Ravens, then." The Baltimore Ravens select Chris Paul, G, Tulsa. |
Jets are gonna make a bit of a luxury pick here:
The Jets select Calvin Austin III, WR - Memphis While Elijah Moore is a natural fit in the slot for them and when in the high 2nd last year, Corey Davis is still around and Jahan Dotson was selected by the Jets earlier in the draft, Calvin Austin III is just really goddamn fast. And while he's only 5'9'' he played almost exclusively out wide at Memphis. He's extremely physical and he's tough as nails. His size presents a problem out wide only to the extent that his catch radius is smaller, but he can find space with his wheels and shouldn't have a problem getting a clean release due to the cushion his speed necessarily requires. There are definitely defensible picks at positions of greater need for the Jets here, but there's nobody that presents the kind of massive big-play upside that Austin does. He's a threat to take it the distance on any given play and provides Wilson another weapon while also giving the Jets more confidence that if Wilson can't succeed, it's ultimately on him and not his weapons. |
NY Giants select Kerby Joseph, Safety, Illinois.
|
If I had known about Wentz before the draft started than my first round pick would have been Stingley. But since Washington ****ed me and wasted my first round pick on the bench for a year…I’ll give them a CB here.
The Washington Commanders select Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee |
The Atlanta Falcons select James Cook, RB, Georgia
|
After much cursing of the GM known as the "The Franchise..."
The Denver Broncos select Ewioma Uwazurike, DT, Iowa State and then select Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB, Alabama |

The Jets select Darrian Beavers, LB - Cincinnati
Phone posting or id babble more. Bottom line is he’s just a fascinating prospect. Was a DB in high school, moved to DE for a tick on college and then to LB. And he kinda does all that stuff now. Can cover a bit, really a strong rusher especially for a LB and does a great job playing downhill against the run. Would be a fascinating experiment at SAM in a 4-3 or as a sort of Buck linebacker in a 3-4 who can line up inside to blitz or in a 7 or 9 technique with his hand on the ground. You can do a LOT with this kid. If I’m a smart DC I’d love to get my hands on this guy just to see what I can do with him. |
And by the way, the Jets have absolutely slaughtered this draft.
Edit: And in updating my board I see I almost pulled a Billay. I was down to him or Alonte Taylor who it appears Pest took and I flat overlooked. Nice pick there. Would’ve been my preferred approach if the Chiefs went with CB with the comp 3rd. |
Quote:
You throw him out there with SS in the Y, Kelce at TE, Hill at Z and Hardman rotating in for select formations. I just don’t know how you stop that. |
The Browns curse as the top ranks of their board was taken between picks 107 and 118. Time to roll the dice on a high risk high reward prospect with great measurables and good performance against lesser competition.
The Cleveland Browns select Joshua Williams, CB, Fayetteville State |
Baltimore native and recognizable football commentator Mel Kiper, Jr., comes out to the stage.
"So I'm going to talk about the 100 best prospects remaining on my board and how they fit in with the Ravens." https://img.bleacherreport.net/img/i...00&h=1200&q=75 Three hours later, the four people remaining in the auditorium hear Mel say, "And this is why I'm going to announce that..." The Baltimore Ravens select Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri. |
The New Orleans Saints select Brian Robinson, RB, Alabama

The Miami Dolphins select Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson

Williams is hard for me to nail down... I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some team falls in love and takes him as high as the mid 2nd, but I can also see hesitancy and him falling to mid day 3. More so than any other CB barring the 1st rounders and maybe Woolen, I think Williams has the highest ceiling. |
The Indianapolis Colts select Braxton Jones, OT, Southern Utah

Withe the 123rd pick , The Los Angeles Chargers select, Spencer Burford, G/OT, Texas-San Antonio. The Chargers need a younger potential RT to shore up there weak O line.

The Philadelphia Eagles select Cole Strange, OG, Chattanooga
|
The Miami Dolphins select Channing Tindall, ILB, Georgia
|
A shit ton in this round its pretty impressive
|
The Las Vegas Raiders select Zach Tom, OL, Wake Forest
I admit, I'm getting fuzzy in this part of the draft. It certainly can't hurt the Raiders to get more meat up front, so that's what we're gonna do. |
The New England Patriots select Montaric Brown, CB, Arkansas

Looks like we hit a bit of a snag here the past couple of days.
Not sure if duncan got a PM because I see he’s been on today. I sent him one. I’ll give him a few more hours. |
First time I had a chance to get away and use a computer for this today.
The Cowboys take Amare Barno, DE, Virginia Tech. Jerry Jones pops out to say, as the pick is announced: "It'll be a cold dark day in hell before my friend Duncan Idaho and I EVER agree to call defensive ends "EDGE" players. They're either DEs in your system or their LBs in your system. Just call it like it is, goddammit!" |
That WR is still on the board. I’d take him in the 4th if I had the Chiefs.
